A Hokey-yet-Sweet Medieval Proposal

With the Renaissance Festival gearing up for the fall around the country, I thought it was only fitting to find a Medieval-esque proposal that wasn’t a PRINCESS proposal (as so many are).

This guy has men kidnap his bride-to-be, dress her in a Renaissance gown and drag her in a carriage. Her knight in shining armor rides in on a horse (yes, he’s wearing REAL armor and riding a REAL horse. Impressive). He swoops her out of the carriage and that’s when he get’s down on one knee. She of course says “YES!”

My favorite part of the video, however, was in the beginning as he’s getting ready, he mentions to the camera that while they were in the car earlier today, she was talking about weddings and proposals. His response was, “Yeah, well maybe someday.” Apparently that answer didn’t really please his maiden that much.

I can totally relate (and know a couple of friends going through a similar situations). Especially because I knew my guy already had the ring, I was beyond myself for the months leading up to the proposal, wondering when it would be and awkwardly trying to plan a wedding while not even being “officially” engaged yet. A Zombie Proposal

As October begins, so does the sense of all things Autumn, all things pumpkin and apple, and all thing spooky. For some, this is the time of year they look forward to– especially when it comes to planning for Halloween festivities.

But can Halloween be romantic?

For this zombie couple, Halloween was the perfect setting for their perfect proposal. At Six Flags, this zombie gent snuck his zombie-bride-to-be’s family in so they could watch him propose to her on stage at Six Flags. She was BEYOND thrilled.

And talk about catching her off guard. At least commitment doesn’t seem to be a frightful thing to either of these love birds. Bet she didn’t see that one coming.

Guy Stages Plane Crash To Propose

I guess there’s a trend in scare-tactic proposals these days. This one is pretty elaborate, and I would have FREAKED OUT if I was the girl.

Here’s the stage. Guy takes his girl on a romantic two-seater plane ride when all of the sudden, they start going down. In the video the girl looks freaked but stays calm as her man asks her to read the emergency procedures. So she does….and it’s actually the proposal.

She excitedly says “Yes,” but I have to wonder— If I was in the situation, I think I would have beaten him up for putting through such a terrifying experience. But I’m a wimp.

Four Way To Propose in the Fall

With Fall here, it is undeniably one of the prettiest times of the year and the beginning of all those good memories flooding back with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas preparations around the corner. If your lady is a lover of all things Autumn, proposing during this season may be the thing for you to do to secure that coveted “YES!”

1) Go Apple Picking
Nothing screams Fall like apples and apple picking. Take your lady out to an orchard and help each other pick apples and just enjoy the day. This is the perfect atmosphere to build the romance and the child-like giggles while making plenty of memories. Plus, with apples already on the ground, you can totally accomplish a fake out when preparing to get down on your knee.

2) Navigate a Corn Maze
While it may seem like a child-ish thing, what could be more fun that running together and navigating all the twist and turns of a corn maze in the fall. Either steal away in a dead-end or surprise her when you guys find your way out by kneeling down and popping the question. It would be a day to remember.

3) Bake Together
For many people, Fall is all about the baking! Apples, pumpkins, you name it. Why not spend a chilly afternoon learning to bake a pie together or something else festive like pumpkin bread. Just don’t hide the ring in food.

4) Plan a Chilly Picnic
It may be getting colder outside, but that doesn’t mean picnics are out of the question. Bundle up and plan a picnic with a great view of some colorful trees. Maybe bring a thermos of cider or hot cocoa while you’re at it. Nothing says romance quite like cuddling when it’s cold.

Marine wins his perfect proposal

Marine Sergeant Arthur Rabago entered a contest to help him start his future with his girlfriend, Shayna Bradley, on the right foot. He wrote a letter saying why he wanted to propose to his lady and as a result won a Verragio engagement ring from Robbins Brothers San Diego and a wedding gown of his new fiance’s choosing.

He set the stage at MCAS Miramar’s Annual Ball Gown Giveaway where his girlfriend was picking out her gown for the Marine Ball. As she’s modeling her new dress on stage, her man grabbed the mic and poured out his heart in front of hundreds of onlookers. She of course said “Yes!”

And the best part? She got to pick out a FREE wedding dress afterward. Can you imagine picking out your wedding dress the same day you get proposed to?

We definitely wish this military couple all the happiness in the world!

A Pictionary proposal!

This was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen (I know I say that a lot, but this time I mean it!).

Apparently this guy and girl met during a history-making Pictionary game years ago. So, he decided to use the way they met and started their courting life together to be the same way they start their married life together.

During the game, she was challenged to draw with her eyes closed. Of course Casanova decided to take the opportunity to get down on one knee right then and there. And when she opened her eyes, there was her man, holding a ring out in front of her. She was beyond surprised!
