How They Met
Shaina and I met during our sophomore year of high school through a mutual friend. We started dating after a year of getting to know each other.
After a lot of prayer and ten years of dating, I proposed to my love and my best friend at the Dallas Arboretum. I wanted to make the proposal about Shaina’s mother as her mother passed away a few years ago battling cancer. With the help of The Yes Girls Events, I was able to execute the ideal proposal. When we arrived at the Arboretum, we arrived to a sign saying, “Follow her footsteps”. We went through the footsteps with characteristics and accomplishments comparing Shaina with her mother. After arriving to the last footstep, I got on one knee and popped the question. She said yes!
The Engagement Ring
Brenly knew Shaina wanted a halo engagement ring and turned to her Pinterest for inspiration. Shaina’s engagement ring is by Simon G.

Amanda and Justin met while working together, but it wasn’t until a year later that they went to the Social House in Addison, TX, for happy hour, and really started talking. That was the beginning of their story.
Amanda and two of her girlfriends stopped by the Social House (the very place where the couple’s story began), for a quiet dinner. She had no idea her boyfriend Justin had planned a surprise party with over 50 of her friends and family, who were hiding in the back room. As soon as the girls sat down, every TV in the restaurant went blank and a very special movie trailer started playing: a cute and funny video picturing the wonderful love story of Amanda and Justin, a Longhorns fan and a Tech fan who fell in love. Christina and Josh met in high school through a mutual best friend, but didn’t see each other as anything more than friends. Years later, while Josh was in college, Christina was visiting old friends down in San Marcos and ran into him at the bar. They immediately hit it off and had a great time that night.

When proposing in Texas, it’s natural to want to go BIG. After all, everything is bigger in Texas, right? But what about taking a softer approach to your proposal? What if you left the orchestra at home and executed the perfect proposal on a smaller scale? Wouldn’t it be more intimate? Perhaps. If done right, of course.
Well, Texans don’t do anything half fast. Here are the best, intimate ways to propose. You can bet you’ll get the “YES!” you want (and deserve). More 〉

How They Met
Cynni had a thing against musicians. A Grammy nominated accordionist and former member of the cumbia/vallenato Latin girl band Chicas de Canela based out of Corpus Christi, Cynni had experienced nothing but heartache dating other musicians. Joe had to work hard to get her attention when they met at Premios A La Musica Latina in San Antonio – she didn’t think she could take him seriously. Joe is the drummer for the Grammy award winning Tejano Band La Mafia, drum instructor, DJ, and substitute teacher. He friended Cynni on Facebook, and they ran into each other again at the Tejano Awards in San Antonio. Cynni’s friend said, “Do you know him? He’s making eyes at you- and not just Facebook eyes!”
