The $1500 iPhone Marriage Proposal

iphone-marriage-proposal-capAn Australian man who wanted to pull off the perfect proposal spent thousands of dollars to develop a custom iPhone app to propose to his girlfriend of three years. Idelkhani, a 26-year-old computer security engineer, hired a programmer to develop an iPhone app. He then gave an iPhone to his girlfriend, Melody, and told her to follow the instructions in the app.

The app was a scavenger hunt that led her around town to important landmarks that defined their relationship. After Melody traveled to each landmark, she was promoted to the next level of the game, which was broadcast in real time via Facebook so that friends and family could watch her progress.

The last and final level of the game prompted her to visit the bedroom where she found a teddy bear that had the note, “Will you marry me?” inside.

“Inside it was a note that I put in there three years ago, which was a message saying: ‘Will you marry me?’,” he told News.com.au. “I gave it to her within the first six months of when we started formally dating. We’d been friends for about five years before that. I was confident that she was the one so I planted that in there just in case. I was pretty confident it would happen, but if it didn’t it would be hidden in there forever anyway.”

Wow. But due to the over-the-top proposal, Idelkhani is making sure the wedding, however, is low key. The two are planning a private, outdoor ceremony.
