Classroom Proposal Ideas

School has started and now is the time to surprise your teacher or student loved-one with the proposal of a lifetime. But how do you work that into her busy schedule? Here are a few ideas!

1. Oh Captain, My Captain. Make sure to talk to your sweetie’s boss before going ahead with any of these ideas! Get the gets in on this gig, and it would probably work best with older students. Instead of having them stand on their desks and declare, “Oh Captain, my captain,” (Dead Poets Society, anyone?) have them stand on their desks and hold signs asking THE QUESTION. When they’ve all taken their correct places with signs in tact, enter the room and dramatically drop to one knee.

2. School Supplies. Get your student (or teacher!) significant other a bunch of school supplies. Sit with her as she lovingly goes through them all and tells you how much she appreciates it. At the bottom of the backpack, basket, or whatever you decide to present them in– have the ring box waiting in disguise. A box of crayons, perhaps? Tell her she should inspect the goods, and once she does get down on one knee and ask the question! Or, if that makes you nervous, put a little piece of paper in the bottom that asks the question and then get down on one knee and pull out the ring.

3. Class Flashmob. If you have a lot of classmates or friends in a certain class, then this may be easy to do. If not, stage them for the day. However, always check with the professor before you do it! You may even get him/her in on the gam. Have some music break out, some friends dancing and lip-syncing, and then appear at the last minute to pull your girl on to the stage/floor and propose! This would work best for larger class size, obviously, or in a theatre class if she’s into that kind of thing!
