Cheyne Whitney wanted his proposal to girlfriend and Amazing Race partner Meghan Rickey to be as unique as possible. Partnering with ArtCarved Bridal, Robbins Brothers and Brides Magazine, he created a one-of-a-kind proposal that still has folks talking about it.

After winning the Amazing Race, Cheyne began working on his proposal. He went to Robbin Brothers where he purchased a gorgeous Limited Edition engagement ring from ArtCarved. After he bought the engagement ring, he worked alongside Brides to create a proposal ad that would pop the question within the pages of the magazine. After months of planning, Cheyne popped the question on February 28 where he innocently handed Meghan a copy of Brides.

“He told me he had some rings to show me in the magazine,” Meghan told People. “And I was like, ‘Okay, that’s kind of weird,’ and he opened up the page and I saw my name first at the top and was like, ‘What the heck?’ And saw our picture at the bottom, and I just read it and I could not believe it.”
