Erin & Travis
How they met
Travis and I (Erin) met at the car dealership, Ricart Automotive in Columbus, Ohio in March of 2011 where we both work. Everyone is told when they first start there to not date anyone within the dealership. Well, we didn’t listen too well to that rule. We started dating in July of 2011 and have been inseparable since.
The proposal
We were on vacation at my grandma’s beach house in Avon-By-The-Sea, New Jersey with my mom, my sister, and Travis’ mom. On August 7th, 2012 me, Travis, his mom and my mom all woke up at 5 A.M. to go watch the sunrise at 6 (Travis doesn’t usually wake up with me to watch it, so I was excited to see it). We had to make sure we got pictures of us with the sunrise behind us As we waited for the sun to come up, Travis kept going up to his mom, who had the camera and making sure she was standing in the right spot for the picture. I had no clue why he was making sure everything was perfect, until we were standing there getting pictures taken and all of a sudden he got down on one knee and held the ring out and asked me to marry him. I burst into tears and of course I said yes! That was the best sunrise I’ve ever seen and we have it captured forever! Travis had the ring for almost three months and had to keep it a secret until vacation. We will never forget that sunrise.
The engagement ring
The ring is a ½ Karat diamond, marquise cut with white gold and has 5 diamonds that go down both sides of the ring. It is from Quality Gold and bought from a wholesale market.
