Alamo Square (San Fran) Proposal

Jason told Christina he wanted to take pictures of her in Alamo Square Park, a place that has special history with their relationship. Considering Christina is expecting their baby, Angelina (already named in utero), it only makes sense.

Well, of course, it wasn’t that simple. Jason had arranged for a RC Helicopter to fly in with her engagement ring on top of it. He then drops to one knee, gives her a wonderful speech, and she accepts his proposal!

I personally would be super afraid of the ring flying off the copter somehow. Luckily, no such thing happened!

Angry Birds Proposal

Melissa was not a fan of Angry Birds. Why? Because her boyfriend, Ben, would never stop playing it. They’d be watching TV together, and he’d be playing the game. They’d be out to eat, and he’d be playing it underneath the table. The madness never ended.

So, apparently, one day Melissa made a joke that Angry Birds would be a part of their wedding because Ben loved it so much. It seemed Ben took this more as a challenge than a joke. He contacted Rovio, the Finland- based parent company of Angry Birds about his proposal idea, not really expecting to hear back.

But to Levi’s surprise, he heard back from Rovio in January, and over the next several months, he worked with company representatives to design the game level and coordinate the proposal. Rovio arranged for hidden cameras to be set up at the restaurant, and then edited the video below.

Melissa obliged to help Ben with a level, thinking he dropped something on the floor. When the screen popped up, it took her a while to comprehend just what was going on.

After being a bit stunned she started crying, blurting out a positive response.

This was incredibly creative. Let’s just hope Ben doesn’t actually try to take it to the next level and make this part of their wedding!

A Surprise Proposal, in parts

Summer found out that her boyfriend was going to propose… and he found out that she knew. Instead of following through, or maybe risking it and changing the day, he came up with a whole new plan. This plan offered multiple opportunities for him to propose, which kept Summer on her toes not really knowing when it was going to happen during the night.

If you want to skip ahead, go to about 4:20 for “Part 3” to see the actual proposal. All the moments are meaningful, but I love that he finds a new spot for them to have to remember where he proposed.

Personally the Sushi restaurant incident would have embarrassed me. The fact that he asks for everyone’s attention, and then doesn’t propose while everyone is staring… things like that just melt me and/or turn me bright red.

Still, have to admit, this was a good way to react when finding out that she knew he was going to propose.

Luvabull Marriage Proposal

Chicago Bulls cheerleader (also known as a Luvabull), Ariana, thought she was just performing at another game. However, she was caught completely off guard as the music changed from their rehearsed routine to one she didn’t know. The look on her face (around 0:57) is priceless and she begins to just walk off the floor, trying to mask possible annoyance that her fellow Luvabulls are still dancing.

It isn’t until the music continues, she’s whisked into a chair, and she’s looking around that I think she gets a sense of what’s going on. Around 2:00, when her boyfriend, Shane, pulls of fan inflatable bull costume and drops to one knee in front of her. She, without hesitation, said yes and pulls him in for a hug.

I love proposals like this where friends and the public get to be a part of it. It’s a big risk unless you’re 100% on her answer, though, and therefore definitely takes guts. I love that as they are going off the court, people in the audience wanted to shake or high-five Shane’s hand and wish the couple some congratulations!

Returning Soldier Wastes No Time

Crystal thinks she is waiting to welcome her boyfriend, Captain Alan Sawyer, home from a tour of duty in Afghanistan. What she doesn’t know is that he and his parents have been in touch about planning his proposal to her as soon as they see each other.

Crystal, an Army captain herself, doesn’t make it to Alan first as they are dismissed to see their families. His dad, who had been keeping the ring in his pocket, hands it off to his son in a manly-embrace before Crystals gets her arms around him. As soon as she does, it doesn’t look like she’s going to let go, but he immediately drops to one knee and asks her to marry him.

I’m such a softy when it comes to stories like this. Congratulations to the couple and thank you for your service!

Diana Vincent Jewelry Designs Opens Second Gallery in Lambertville, NJ

Diana Vincent Jewelry Designs has opened a second gallery location in the historic town of Lambertville in New Jersey at 12 North Union Street.  Owners Diana Vincent and Vince Polisano have been doing business at their original location in Washington Crossing, PA for close to 30 years. “It’s like the SoHo or the Greenwich Village of the country, and it’s just 90 minutes from New York City and 30 miles from Philadelphia” Polisano says about Lambertville.

Vincent emphasizes that her focus is on creating art, not following popular culture.  “Wearing jewelry is like wearing a piece of art,” she said.  “It should be beautiful, timeless. I never follow the trends because they go out of style. I like mine to be pieces that will last forever.” Her pieces evoke a sense of continuity, most notable in the swirling shapes that are characteristic of many of her rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces.

Surprise Homecoming Proposal

A soldier returns home for Thanksgiving, surprising his girlfriend as she finishes aTurkey Trot 5k. She’s cold, sweaty, and probably exhausted, but as soon as they see each other there’s no keeping them apart.

He goes to her (and you can hear the announcer letting everyone know what’s going on), and he drops to one knee. You hear her “yes” very clearly over the video.

I love the look she gives him afterwards, when she’s putting her glasses back on. It’s one of “those” looks like, “I can’t believe you just did this to me.” While I’m sure it’s positive, I can’t imagine all that’s running through her head. Since she did after all just finish a 5k, is surprised to see her loved one home from Afghanistan, and then he proposes– all on Thanksgiving?!

Good job, soldier. Good job.

Thanksgiving Proposal

Every year, Megan’s family goes around the table and says something they are thankful for. Garrett was getting to participate in the tradition, and decided to make it extra special. More than anything, he wanted to incorporate Megan’s grandfather, who passed away in June 2012.

So they passed Garrett and after everyone had said something they were grateful for, he turned and said that there was something he had forgotten to say. He told the family he was thankful he got to meet all of them, especially Megan’s grandfather, then shared an adorable story of how before he passed away he had asked Garrett to take care of his granddaughter, and then Garrett says he plans on keeping that promise.

I love this proposal because if I was to experience a Thanksgiving proposal, I imagine this is how I’d want it to go. It was in front of her family, and made part of a tradition that was clearly near and dear to her heart. I can only imagine how this will play into years to come. “I’m so thankful you proposed to me today [insert number of years] ago!”

Rap Battle Proposal

Well, now I’ve seen everything. Jackie and her man were participating in a rap battler, and though she kept repeating, “A woman is nothing without her man,” in a sarcastic way, clearly she wasn’t about to say no to a proposal.

I love how she’s trying so hard not to cry. Clearly she’s outnumbered. Notice all the men around?

There is a little language in this video. You have been warned!

What’s funny to me is how excited all of them get for the proposal. I mean, it’s not like they all started crying, but they were still clearly impressed that this guy decided to take the leap and make one outrageous public proposal.
