Love and Dating Blogs for Guys

From HubPages.

A few days ago I was put on a project to find relationship blogs targeted toward men. I assumed the task sounded easy enough, and right away I started digging through Google for blogs for guys.

Unfortunately, the search turned out to be a lot harder than I thought. Of course, the most obvious mistake I made in my search was looking for “relationship” blogs. Whether the guy is in a relationship or not, that word seems to act as some kind of repellent of some sort. So even though it might be the same content, if it’s targeted toward men it’s hidden under the veil of “love, dating or sex.”

OK, so that was my mistake. I’ll admit that. So I started searching for “love/dating” blogs for guys. The results? Tacky, cheap blogs (some that haven’t been updated in months, years) all targeted to “how to get the girl.” These blogs seemed more interested in landing the hot chick, how to be a ladies man and how to talk to girls if you’re an unattractive, socially awkward loser. Most of these sites and blogs also sold eBooks, which meant if you were actually interested in learning the 10 dating tips you would need to know to date Megan Fox, you would have to pay $19.99 for it.

So my question is: Why is there no good love/dating blogs for guys? I found a few nice ones on my hunt (I’m keeping those a secret for now), but they don’t seem to have a large audience. I guess I don’t really have much to say about the matter; I just think it’s strange is all. Anyone here know of any relationship blogs targeted to just men and men only?

I found an edgy blogging site for men/marriage/relationships. Be careful what you wish for. It is DEFINITELY written from a guy’s perspective! http://www.makeyourwifehot.com.

It’s not really a blog, and I think you have to buy something. Nope. Thumbs down.

BTW, my blog has RELEVANT content that is unabashed, honest, (and yes…it is edgy) but you are not required to buy the ebook to learn what’s inside it. If you read all the blogs, you’ll learn many of the thoughts, ideas, and inner workings of the male mind with respect to keeping a marriage alive! It can also apply to dating of course. http://makeyourwifehot.wordpress.com/2009/06/12/make-your-wife-hot/

I am nuts…sure…saved a 20 year marriage from divorce by being honest about what men and women want and need in a relationship. Read it all…send my blog to 10 guys and let me know their reaction.

you’re just misogynistic … how about you try to not control women and their thoughts… if she doesn’t want to give it up to you there is probably a good reason… and i would never sned your blog to any of my guy friends just to try an sell your crap book!

i think there are dating and love blogs for guys it is just that it has lower PR and more often than not it does not have enough traffics and promotions.

  11. Notnuts,

Sorry you assumed I hate women. I actually love them…especially my wife. She’s not offended that the book we co-wrote has helped hundreds of couples keep their marriages intact.

I am sure you recognize the difference in marketing vs. content. “Controlling thoughts” is science fiction, of course. But understanding and fulfilling a person’s needs often seems like it!
It would be better if you could set aside your anger and replace it with an open spirit. If not, too bad. I hope your marriage will be as fulfilling as ours.

    Good luck!

I know of one called BeBetterGuys.com, but it is targeted a bit to men who want to be more polished and smooth, and not a frat guy.

There’s also one written by a guy called “How To Crush Without Being Crushed”, and is about having healthy crushes and dating relationships, but isn’t necessarily a gender-specific blog.

let me know what you find in a follow-up article! I’d love to recommend one for my boyfriend.

    Aawesome!

    Guys and Dolls

There was a time when I thought that being a Magyar and having that ability to do a nifty Cossack number (waving a sabre) in school, that I may have a bright future in the liberal arts. I had seen Zero Mostel as Tevye in “ Fiddler on the Roof” and the 1955 movie, “Guys and Dolls” with Marlon Brando, a very, very sexy Jean Simmons and Frank Sinatra who croons that great number,” Luck, be a lady tonight…”. Then the realization came that I couldn’t win over girls acting like Tevye, the milkman or Rusty Charlie. So I decided to listen to my parents and become a doctor or Herr Doktor, as I am still known in certain parts of the world. I still have a thing for Dolls, the “cryin’, sleepin’, walkin’ talkin’ living doll”.
