[VIDEO] A Street Art Marriage Proposal

Here’s your adorable viral video of the day. Aaron Vandenbroucke proposed to his girlfriend Tamara Marie Altherr by leading her on a street art “tour.” Aaron collaborated with several street artists to create a visual retelling of Aaron and Tamara’s relationship. The last piece of art on the tour was a hand drawn image of Aaron proposing to Tamara with the words “Marry Me” spelled out. We’ve seen a lot of creative proposals but not a street art one!

The Most Expensive Engagement Ring in 'Bachelor' History

brad-womack-engagement-ring
This year bachelor Brad Womack will propose to the winner with a $90,000 engagement ring, the most expensive in the show’s history, according to Life & Style. The platinum Neil Lane ring has a 3-carat round center stone and a pave eternity band. The ring was picked out by Brad himself.

Because of the show’s shoddy track record of successful relationships, producers have made strict stipulations about the engagement rings. If a Bachelor couple stays together for more than two years they can keep the engagement ring, which is what former Bachelor winner Sarah Brice did when she broke up with Charlie O’Connell. Last year she auctioned off her $20,000 engagement ring on eBay. However, if the couple doesn’t stay together within the allotted time period, the engagement ring must be handed back to producers, like what Vienna Girardi had to do.

We have to say, out of all the Bachelor Neil Lane rings, we love Jillian Harris‘ engagement ring the most. Her vintage-style ring was not only gorgeous but surprisingly unique.

New One-of-a-Kind Wedding Bands from Novell

novell-unity-bands

We’re loving these new unity wedding bands by Novell. The bands, which each have a unique tribal-like design remiscient of their TATU collection, are not your typical wedding rings. The rings combine 14kt gold and Argentium silver with a unique bonding technology to create the look.  A light-weight gold band is then designed and carefully fused to a strong Argentium silver liner.  This results in a wonderfully resilient band that’s both durable, colorful and stylish.

Pop the Wuestion at a Unique Swedish Hotel

When you think of a nice vacation getaway, Sweden usually isn’t the first place that comes to mind. But surprisingly, there are a lot of quirky places that would make excellent proposal locations. If you’re interested in popping the question inside, say, the first and largest ice hotel in the world, then you should definitely check out these cool places.

treehotel

TreeHotel

Anyone can stay in a 5-star luxurious hotel in some major city, but what about a tree hotel? Harads Tree Hotel is a unique hotel that opened last year that lets you sleep amongst the trees. Harads, Lapland

icehotel

IceHotel

The IceHotel in Northern Sweden is the largest ice hotel in the world. Inside the hotel the temperature never falls below 23 degrees Fahrenheit, which is still pretty cold, so you’ll have to dress warmly. If you ever wanted to recreate Seal‘s iconic igloo proposal to Heidi Klum, then this would be the easiest way. Kiruna, Lapland

underwaterhotel

The Underwater Hotel

The Utter Inn is a unique hotel that lets you sleep in an underwater room. The hotel consists of two parts, an underwater room and a “bridge” that floats on the water that looks like a little farm house. When the sun sets, you can walk down the stairs and retreat into the underwater room. Västerås

Underground Hotel

After the ice hotel, the tree hotel and the underwater hotel, this hotel probably comes as no surprise. The Room Silver Mine has a room that’s 510 feet underground. The room also comes with a guided tour of the mine, a basket of refreshments and a bottle of champagne.

Wannabe Brides Can Now Pretend to be Kate Middleton

prince-william-statue
In Britain it seems like everyone wants to be Prince William‘s fiancee, Kate Middleton. Luckily, those women will now get to see their dream come true…sort of. Beginning today a London gallery will display a wax statue of the handsome prince, according to The New York Post. The statue comes with a replica of Princess Diana‘s iconic blue sapphire engagement ring. Visitors can visit the wax model, slip on the replica engagement ring and get their very own engagement picture taken with the statue. Creepy or cute? We’ll let you be the judge of that. [NYPost]

Kate Moss's Engagement Ring

The supermodel just announced her engagement to boyfriend Jamie Hince yesterday. She happily flashed her diamond engagement ring when she stepped out yesterday in Paris. According to The Daily Mail, Jamie proposed to Kate with a 1920s vintage engagement ring. We think it looks similar to the antique John Apel ring below.

Celebrities with Eco-Friendly Engagement Rings

Being eco-conscious has been a growing concern over the past years, and eco-friendly engagement rings are no exception. Check out these celebs who are sporting engagement rings that are both gorgeous and friendly to the environment.

Natalie Portman

Natalie’s classically stunning ring is not only surprisingly vegan but also pretty cheap, too. With the help of a jeweler, the couple created a ring made out of recycled metals with a vintage center stone. The pave diamonds that surround the center stone were taken from a conflict-free mine. The estimated price is only $35,000, which is pretty economical for most celebrities.

The longtime vegetarian and environmental advocate went the vintage route when she got engaged to Christopher Jarecki. Jarecki proposed to her with a family heirloom, an old ring that used to belong to his grandmother.

Crystal Bowersox

The American Idol runner-up had an entire green wedding when she got married in 2010. She and husband Brian Walker opted to forgo diamonds entirely. “There are no diamonds to be found [in our wedding rings] as we don’t believe in the violence and injustice that occurs within the diamond trade industry,” Crystal told People. “Both rings feature the masonry symbol, an infinity 8, and the Sanskrit symbol for the sound ‘om’ and a personal design that for us represents three: Brian, Crystal, and Tony.”
