Rihanna’s Marriage Proposal
Pop star Rihanna was shocked when one of her fans got down on one knee and proposed to her backstage after a concert. The singer, who is currently touring the world for her LOUD tour, was taking part in a meet and greet with fans backstage after a show. That’s when one overzealous fan decided to whip out a little blue Tiffany’s box and propose to the fiery singer. Surprisingly, she said yes! But don’t expect to see these two walking down the aisle anytime soon. [Idolator]
Shannen Doherty’s Engagement Ring
The former Charmed actress just announced she’s getting hitched to celebrity photographer Kurt Iswarienko. She hasn’t revealed her new engagement yet, but Shannen is no stranger to having a ring on her finger. Back in 2002, the 90210 star rocked a massive six carat engagement ring given to her by husband Richard Soloman. She unfortunately had to return the ring when the couple split in 2004. Check out more info about the ring below

The “Paparazzi Proposal” Package
If you’re looking for a unique proposal idea and you have a lot of money to spend, check out this unique proposal package offered by luxury hotel The Langham Boston. Most hotels offer from kind of proposal package, but instead of offering the standard bottle of champagne and roses, this package promises something most couples don’t even think of — paparazzi. The package comes with a group of sneaky photographers to capture the proposal right as it happens. One of the photos from the paparazzi session is then printed and framed inside an 8×10 silver engraved frame. The package also comes with a $10,000 engagement ring, a night at the luxurious Contemporary Suite of the hotel and other discounts and freebies. [EliteChoice]
Surprise Proposal at Starbucks
Now here’s a proposal that would charm any coffee lover. Mikaela and Shane had their first date at a Starbucks, so it was only appropriate for the couple to get engaged at their favorite coffee chain as well. But instead of dragging his girlfriend to an actual Starbucks store, Shane recreated his own personal version of Starbucks in a secluded wooded area. How cute is this? And he didn’t skimp on the details either. The recreated Starbucks included a menu, books, furniture and, of course, coffee. After luring Mikaela to the woods, Shane put on his barista uniform and proposed.

Cowboys’ Roy Williams Proposes to Girlfriend Via Mail
If you thought yesterday’s “Forced Engagement Kit” was coming on too strong, you’ll be equally baffled by this proposal. Back in February, Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver Roy Williams proposed to girlfriend Brooke Daniels by mailing her a package that contained an engagement ring, $5,000 for school and dental bills, a baseball for her brother and a video taped marriage proposal. Brooke was not impressed and did not accept his proposal. Williams is now suing his ex-girlfriend to get his $76,000 engagement ring back, according to The Washington Post. Can’t say we’re surprised. Would you ever accept a proposal by mail?
Boyfriend Won’t Propose? Send Him a “Proposal Pressure Kit”
Women who are sick of waiting for their boyfriends to propose now have a solution. The Best Surprise, a Japanese “proposal support” company, has developed a “Proposal Pressure Kit” for impatient girlfriends who want to send their boyfriends a much-needed hint.
The kit includes an array of various engagement-related goodies such as a temporary engagement ring, a marriage promise form and a piggy bank that symbolizes the money that’s being saved for the wedding. The kit is delivered to the boyfriend’s house and is cleverly disguised as a prize the boyfriend has won via some random prize selection committee.
There’s also the “Forced Engagement Kit” for women who are really feeling pressed for time. This kit comes with an actual legal marriage registration form and a count down clock to symbolize that the relationship is literally “running out of time.” If this doesn’t get your boyfriend’s attention nothing will. “Sailing” Proposal Wins Ultimate Proposal Contest
An elaborate proposal involving a sailboat won this year’s Ultimate Proposal Contest. The San Diego couple was one among dozens of other couples who submitted their stories to the JIC-sponsored contest and was chosen as the winner by those who voted via JIC’s website.
Austin Dias proposed to his girlfriend Jessica Williams by renting a sailboat that had the words “Marry Me” written on the sail:
“I worked with a friend from a local sail-making company to put ‘Marry Me?’ on the spinnaker sail. Meanwhile, I was also contacting some of my best buddies to help crew the boat on this special mission. I created a plan for them that had detailed locations for the proposal that depended upon the day’s wind direction and even included a ‘no wind’ plan that involved putting the sail up and motoring backwards to make the spinnaker fly!
[…]
Finally, after what felt like the longest day of my life, I picked up Jess and headed down to the bay. I asked her if we could go on a walk and she agreed that it would be nice. “What is that boat doing?!” she said… “Oh I don’t know, let’s watch,” I replied. The big white spinnaker sail flew up and in large red letters she read, “Marry Me?” She turned around to find me on one knee and the ring sparkling in the sunset. She cried with excitement and said, “YES, YES, YES!”
The lucky couple won a seven-night Caribbean cruise and a pair of platinum and diamond weddings bands from Maevona. You can check out proposal stories from the other nine finalists here.
Kate Moss Loses Engagement Ring
Supermodel Kate Moss is tying the knot with fiance Jamie Hince this week. But wedding day jitters aren’t the only thing stressing Kate out. Yesterday Kate temporarily lost her $22,000 engagement ring while at the Glastonbury Festival. According to The Mirror, Kate started hyperventilating once she realized the ring wasn’t on her finger. She then forced her friends to crawl around the floor looking for it. Luckily for her, she later found the ring safe in her purse.
Losing an engagement ring can be a pretty traumatic experience. After all, engagement rings are expensive and not easily replaceable. Have you ever lost your engagement ring?
