Family Niagara Falls Proposal
John and Melissa were together for three years, and both had made some sacrifices for the relationship. Well, really Melissa made quite a few sacrifices for the relationship. Within a few months of dating she started talking about marriage, but John kind of skirted the issue. When they graduated grad school, Melissa even limited her job search to where John was moving so they could continue to be in the same place.
However, her sacrifice didn’t go unnoticed. John decided after all she had done for him, he was going to make his marriage proposal all the more special. He had photographers waiting to capture the moment, and flew out his parents and her parents for the special occasion as well. It was all, of course, a big surprise.
While Melissa is thrilled and astounded with John’s proposal, her happiness level escalates when he tells her to turn around and she spots both sets of parents. John knew how important it was to her for their families to be present for this momentous occasion, and I don’t think anyone could have made her happier.
I think it’s so funny that they actually forgot to put the ring on her finger before the parents were revealed and the hugs/kisses/tears shared.

A Pride & Prejudice Proposal
Brent and Mandy met in 2007 and since then had been near inseparable, so how to make the proposal special?
Mandy was staring as Charlotte Lucas in an adapted version of Pride & Prejudice through The Vintage Theatre in Scranton, PA, a sort of Jane Austen meets Mad Men take on the story set in the 1960s. On the last night, Brent decided the time was right and wanted to take advantage of the stage and the audience for his next big move.
In front of a sold-out crowd, Brent got down on one knee and asked Charlotte Lucas to be his Mrs. Darcy. Er, wait, that’s not how the story goes!
The reaction of the actors and the audience is priceless. I love that gentleman who called Mandy front and center is just about jumping up and down when Brent kneels and Mandy’s head starts nodding. I definitely think proposing on a stage has its advantages, because it adds such a thrill to the moment!
Oh, and by the way, I’m totally interested in seeing this adaptation! What a fun twist to a classic.

Boyfriend had to-be-fiance unknowingly plan her own proposal party.
Tyson dropped a few hints to his girlfriend, Haley, that he really wanted a birthday party. Soon his mom was in on the stunt and made the suggestion to Haley as well, and she was very excited to do just that. What Haley didn’t know that all this planning was actually for her own proposal party.
Tyson did work on his end as well. He prepared a song to play/sing for her and a camera crew ready to record the whole thing. While Haley was blindfolded at the party under the pretense of playing pin the tail on the donkey, he took charge and ordered people around, changing the scene of the party to a romantic spot for a proposal.
Tyson begins playing the song to Haley around 6:55. It’s so precious because there are times where his nerves are obviously getting to him and he gets a little choked up, thrown off of his playing and singing. I personally think this makes it even better, because it’s so real and not movie-like-perfection.
He ends his song around 10:45 and finally pops the question.
I’d say he did an outstanding job hoodwinking his girlfriend with this proposal!

Kanye West Proposes to Kim Kardashian
Kanye West proposed to baby mama Kim Kardashian on her 33rd birthday and went about it in a way only appropriate for their relationship.
Before popping the question at San Francisco’s AT&T Park, which was rented out for the occasion, he asked Kris Jenner, future mother-in-law, for her daughter’s hand in marriage.
Kanye proposed to Kim with a gorgeous 15-carat diamond ring by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz.
It may have also helped that the jumbo screen at the stadium read, “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!”
On top of it all, a 50-piece orchestra played Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful,” followed by Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and Kanye’s “Knock You Down”.
The couple started dating in April 2012, announced their coming bundle of joy that December, and welcomed daughter, North West, June 15, 2013. No set date or anything for the wedding yet, but I can’t imagine it will be anything less than the huge spectacle that is their relationship.

The Proposal
This one really couldn’t be titled any other way. The length of this one alone deserves a movie title!
Justin decided to propose to Emily at the restaurant where they had their first date. He called her to say he was running late, had the restaurant opened just for her, and set up hidden cameras all around to capture the moment. When Emily sat down, there was a TV set in front of her ready to play a very creative video that Justin had made just for the occasion. After going through a few pitches, remakes of some music videos, and a small tribute to Emily herself, he finally appears in the restaurant with even more surprises.
If you don’t want to watch the whole video, I would say start around 17:45 when Justin is talking with his family and goes in to start his speech to Emily. If not, he gets down on one knee around 23:05.
Really, though, the whole video is worth watching. You laugh, you cry… all that good stuff. The rest of the male population now has quite a lot to live up to when it comes to proposing.

Acting Out, a Unique Proposal
Mark surprised Giselle with a pedicab ride through Millennium Park in Chicago. What she wasn’t expecting was to see actors staged throughout their ride portraying moments from their relationship. Gotta give the guy credit, this is pretty creative!
The scenes included a dinner date, an inside joke, a road trip that apparently involved an awful bee, and a guitarist singing their song. When the ride ended, and Mark was ready to propose, the entire family was there waiting to help him.
Want a close-up of the sign? I knew you did!
This obviously took a lot of planning and effort.
I think choosing the moments from their relationship would have to be the things that took the most consideration. After all, you’d want to include both of your favorite moments in the proposal!
Congrats to the happy couple!

Proposal Planning by The Heart Bandits
Game Night Proposal
Trevor wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Crystal, in a way that would mean something to her. Since Crystal is a cheerleading coach, he decided to use that to his advantage.
During half time of the Van Horn High School football game, Crystal was called in front of her girls who were ready to hold up their signs. When a special song started playing, Crystal immediately tries to move out of view– clearly knowing what was coming.
Trevor appears with flowers and a speech (at 0:54) that any girl would love to hear. After getting down on one knee, and Cyrstal saying yes, they are surrounded by her cheerleaders in screams and hugs of congratulations.
Crystal’s reaction is truly priceless. You can tell she’s a little embarrassed that Trevor chose a public proposal, and I imagine that many women feel the same way in similar circumstances! Still, you gotta give him credit. I don’t think men really go for public proposals unless they’re sure of themselves (and her answer)!

Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas Engaged!
Call me a nerd, but I absolutely love ABC’s Once Upon a Time. So when this couple started dating (publicly April 2012), I was a little worried that they wouldn’t get their happily ever after in real life.
But here we are, and Snow White and Prince Charming are really getting married!
Dallas asked Goodwin to be his real-life fairy tale on Wednesday in LA. I don’t know if he actually used those words (and personally kind of hope he didn’t), but how can I not play this up?
“We are so thrilled to announce our engagement and can’t wait to celebrate with our friends and family, including our second family at Once Upon a Time,” the couple said in a statement to PEOPLE.
SO EXCITED FOR THIS ENGAGEMENT! Congratulations to the beautiful couple.
