February 29th– a day that only happens once every four years– is a special day indeed. Not only do we get an extra 24 hours, but according to Irish and Scottish tradition, it’s the ONE day a woman can propose to a man.

Yesterday, a woman did just that. Genevieve and her boyfriend Rachad are from the United Arab Emirates, but she decided for her epic Leap Day proposal, she’d really make the tradition stick. She surprised her boyfriend by taking him to Scotland where a barber shop singing group serenaded him. The singers then revealed that under their jackets, their shirts spelled “Will you marry…”

Genevieve unzipped her jacket revealing a shirt that read “Me?” and stood in line with the singers.

What do you think his reply was? Probably should watch to find out.

What do you think: Is it okay for women to propose to men?
