An Adorable Proposal

Christen & Mark

The Proposal

“My alarm went off at 7:30 in the morning saying, get up now please. Mark called me 1 minute later telling me to go look in my mailbox and hung up. There was a green bow on my mailbox and inside has a letter, white hydrangeas, and a little box. I had to read the note first. There were directions that he said I must follow. 1. Drink coffee, 2. He gave me a devotion to do so we would be doing the same one. 3. After I was done I was allowed to open the box.

In the box was an amazing letter saying that he talked to my grandpa and how much my grandma would love to be here. And under the letter was my Grandmother’s last tube of lipstick. I lost it. At the end, the note said Emma (my daughter) and I had to be ready by 8:55. We got ready and at 9, my friends Tim and Amanda showed up and said they were taking us somewhere and that  I was suppose to look for green bows along the way.

“As we drove, I saw bows on trees, stop signs, and street signs. How does he honestly have time for this? We got to Ringwood Manor and Tim told me to go walk that way and Amanda and him have Emma and to look for green bows. Naturally, I started walking and didn’t see any bows. Eventually I got there and saw a bow and then another white hydrangea. There was a path of them that led to a tree. In the tree was a wreath with a wood sign with the date and our word, ”mine”. There was a letter on the ground and I started reading it and tear up. At the end it said, “turn around, your family wants to see you.” And there he was, with Emma, and I started to well up more. He came over and proposed and I cry… and said yes. Then he got down to Emma’s level and asks her, “Emma, can I be your Daddy?” and pulled out a ring pop and I continue to cry. Haha. Then my friend Dave popped out. He had been taking pictures the whole time and we had our engagement photos done right there. I’m a lucky girl!”
