Someday My Prince Will Come, Disney Proposal
Kory and Samantha are at Disney World, dancing in front of the castle. Suddenly, Kory whips out his phone and starts talking to someone, all the while Samantha looking a little confused. Especially when Kory says, “See you in a bit.”
THEN around the corner comes family! Samantha is so surprised. Enter more people, holding signs, reading, “Samantha, I love you.” Someone counts to three, and….
I was really worried Kory wasn’t going to drop to one knee. I mean, he’s waving at the signs and Sam is standing there trying not to cry, the time is drawing nigh… and he finally does it. What I personally want to know, is if all the people holding signs are friend/family. I’d like to think so.
If you can bear through the people singing off-key, it’s extra special when they’re hugging and kissing and everyone starts singing, “Someday My Prince Will Come”. The proposal begins and ends with a dance. How Disney.

Valentine’s Day: Three Ways to Avoid Cliche Proposals
When it comes to proposing on Valentines Day, it can be really difficult to not be a cliche. Champagne, roses, and chocolates pretty much seal the deal. So how can you switch it up and make it your own?
1.) Cook her dinner.
Going out to a fancy restaurant can create even more pressure, not to mention the hassle of reservations and possibly enlisting help of servers and such for your proposal. Stay in, set up house, and cook her dinner– especially if this is something you don’t typically do. It will make the night memorable, personal, and perfect for a proposal… Even if you only whip up some Mac and cheese.
2.) Throw her off the trail.
Valentines Day screams proposal, especially if you’ve been together or had some serious talks. Don’t want her to think it’s happening? Present opportunities (champagne at dinner, romantic walk to a favorite spot, etc.) without presenting the ring. While this may seem particularly cruel on the holiday, it will guarantee an awesome reaction when you do finally drop to one knee.
3.) Go beyond chocolates.
Just because you’re proposing does not, in my opinion, get you out of getting some sort of Valentines Day trinket. This is extra important if you don’t want her to suspect a proposal is coming. Roses and chocolates are the cliche– so do something else. Find her a personalized gift on etsy or from her favorite store. Show her she’s more than just a holiday before you give her the best gift of all.
Good luck, my friend, and enjoy your day of love!

Times Square Flash Mob Proposal
This one just totally floored me. I think the fact that it’s in Times Square with so many people… it just had to take so much planning.
Anastasia and Bobby are watching the flash mob and all the while you see this little look on Bobby’s face. When he takes off his jacket and joins the crowd, Anastasia just looks so flaberghasted.
And then Jason Derulo’s, “Marry Me” starts to play.
I still think Anastasia wasn’t 100% that this flash mob was, in fact, for her. But then you see this look on her face, and she almost looks impatient. It’s a, “OK, honey, I see that you’re dancing and this is awesome… but can we get to it?”
This is proven to me when he drops to one knee (4:25) and you see her reaching for the ring. Obviously Bobby picked out the right one.
At the end, you see family and friends appear out of the crowd to congratulation the newly-engaged couple.
Side Note: I would personally like to know how many people have used this song to propose, to date.

An Arrested Proposal
Samantha and Matt met at a party their freshman year of college… which was busted by the cops. After that, it seemed the two connected, and began dating.
When it came time to propose, Matt decided that since they mat as “trouble makers”, it only made sense to propose in that way. The police pulled them over, and had him by the vehicle putting him in handcuffs. Samantha didn’t know what to think as the officer began patting her boyfriend down… until the officer pulled something out of Matt’s pocket.
An engagement ring.
Matt then strides over to Samantha, clearly not cuffed, and asks her to marry him. As he does, friends appear from all over to get it on camera. Obviously they were staged around the area, knowing what was going to happen.
Samantha’s terrible experience turned into one of sheer joy.
How would you feel about this kind of proposal?

Indonesia Proposal
They’d been together for five years. A chance encounter meeting lead to a long time relationship, and it finally came time for a proposal.
Since it was five years in the making, the boyfriend really went all out. Not only did he hire a dance crew to get involved, but he made a little video just for his to-be-fiance.
After waiting five years, I’d say she got a well planned proposal! I think during the dance she’s still unsure of what’s going on. Like, why are all these people dancing around me? But once she was lead to sit down and watch the video, I wish we would have been able to see her reaction.
The video he made starts around 3:50, and he finally appears to propose around 5:00.

Snowboarding Proposal
Justin and Shayne were spending the day on the mountain snowboarding. What Shayne didn’t know was that something else was planned for that day– a proposal.
I love that these two are out doing something that they like doing together, and Justing picks a place with a breath-taking view to pause in the snow and kneel on one knee.
I wonder if an outdoor wedding is in their future?

A School Engagement
Spencer got everyone in on his proposal plans. Initially he told his girlfriend, Elizabeth, he was going out of town… but of course she wanted to come with him, so he went along with it and let her think they were headed to New York for her birthday on Sunday.
Friday comes and Spencer has the whole school in on what he’s doing. Well, maybe not the whole school, but Elizabeth’s class and the principal, at least. As the principal calls Elizabeth to the office for a delivery of roses, Spencer sneaks in to the classroom (with his friend who’s videotaping the entire thing as well) and the students and another teacher keep them concealed until the perfect moment (3:35).
Spencer proposes in front of Elizabeth’s students with an engagement ring he told her they weren’t making anymore (the one she picked out to begin with), and it also has something very special about it– the diamond was his grandmother’s. He had his grandmother’s diamond placed in the setting Elizabeth wanted.
Can we swoon yet?
This is just too precious. Elizabeth lets everyone know, using a sign in her classroom, that “Today was special because I got engaged!”

Online Dating Proposal
Troy and Eliza met online. They’re both 40 years old, and they both have three children. Both have somewhat tragic stories when it came to their previous spouses, and both had given up on finding love again.
Until they found each other.
Troy decided to use how they met to his advantage for their proposal. Without knowing it, Eliza helps him document their relationship and his proposal. He tells her they’ve been contacted to be part of a documentary about successful online-dating relationships. While this seems to be a good idea, that’s not the purpose of them sharing their stories or visiting places where they had their dates with a polaroid camera.
They’re relationship really is so heart-warming. The fact that these two found each other is reaffirming to the fact that you can find love at any stage in life. Troy not only involved all six kids in the proposal, but flew Eliza’s family from Maine down to be a part of it as well.
If you don’t want to watch the whole video, skip ahead to 5:40, when Eliza arrives to the scene for the actual proposal. But if you have the time… watch the whole thing. It will make you tear up.
Needless to say, these two definitely deserve a Happily Ever After.

Romantic Winter Proposal
I love how this video is set up. It’s so adorable.
These two love-birds had been together for five years, conquering all odds. Dahn decided it was time to pop the question, and he definitely picked a wonderful way to do it. He had his girlfriend lead outside by a friend, in the snow (note that she’s in a dress and heels–brrr!), and he’s waiting by a candlelit heart, holding a Hello Kitty and, of course, the engagement ring. When he finally drops to one knee, her reaction is too adorable.
While they may be getting engaged young (21), they are waiting until they finish pharmacy school to actually walk down the aisle. Since they survived the teenage years, I’d say they have level heads on their shoulders to make it through school before a wedding ceremony!
Make sure you watch to see the pictures of the ring at the end. Talk about GORGEOUS!
