Biker creates crazy traffic jam to propose!

Hector wanted to propose to his longtime girlfriend Paige in a way she wouldn’t forget. So, with the help of about 300 other motorcyclists, Hector did just that… and completely shut down the freeway for a few minutes in Covina, CA.

As the video starts, you see a few people stopped and waiting ahead of the massive biker pack. All of a sudden, you see the bikers slowing to a crawl underneath an overpass where the couple’s family members had gathered to film the proposal. Hector’s wheel begins to emit a cloud of pink smoke, and then he gets off his motorcycle to pop the question.

You can’t see Paige’s reaction very well, but she said yes! Can you imagine driving on the freeway that day? While I’d be happy for the lovebirds, I’m not sure I’d be super thrilled to be held up in traffic because of the proposal. I can’t imagine the highway patrol was very happy, either. Couldn’t this have had potential accidents?

As far as I know, no one was hurt during this proposal.

Men on Stilts + Balloons + Huge Flashmob = Awesome Proposal

Ernesto really planned his proposal to a “t”. He organized a huge flashmob in Mérida, Yucatán which ended up involving three men on stilts, balloons for the crowd, and a completely shocked Pilar.

I want to know if the guys on stilts were really supposed to be part of the proposal or just a bonus. I mean, they seem to be moving with the flow, but they’re not really doing the moves. Can you imagine if they were doing everything the flashmobers were doing? Walking on those things is difficult enough, I suppose.

Go forward to 3:20 to see Ernesto and Pilar appear for the big moment!

Oh! If you watch the guy in white on stilts around 1:50, you notice his clapping isn’t syncing with everyone else’s. It made me laugh a little too hard.

3 Wintry-Spring Proposal Ideas

According to the calendar, the first day of spring has come. However, according to the weather in many parts of the country, winter is still winning. If you were planning a spring proposal and now you’re worried the weather isn’t going to work in your favor, here are three creative ideas to help you overcome Mother Nature.

1. Get Creative. I don’t mean just change your proposal so that it involves winter instead of a proposal in a garden. You want a garden proposal? Be creative! Take your girl to the spot and draw flowers in the snow using some fun food-dye. Have a bouquet of legitimate flowers for her and tell her the weather just wouldn’t let you do this how you wanted, but you wouldn’t let that stop you.

2. Move it Indoors. If you don’t want to drag your sweetie out into the cold for your proposal, but don’t want to delay it any longer, then move it indoors. Planning a picnic? Create the atmosphere in your living room! Move all your furniture, put down a blanket, and use your broiler instead of a grill. Planning an outside party because you have a small place, and don’t have the funds to rent a space? Find a friend or family member who has a big enough house to host the event. I highly doubt they’ll tell you no!

3. Surprise Relocation. What girl doesn’t like a surprise trip to somewhere warm when you’ve been stuck in a prolonged winter? There are plenty of ways to plan cost-effective trips, and what better time to do that then for your proposal? If you wanted friends and family, there’s no harm in convincing them to do the same. It may not work out for everyone, but as long as you and the bride-to-be are there, I’d say it’s a win-win.

4 Easter Inspired Proposal Ideas

We are in the season of Lent and Easter is headed our way. Weather you celebrate the holiday or not, it offers quite a few chances to propose in adorable and creative ways. Here are just four of them!

1. Easter Egg Hunt. If you’re part of a church, or a big family, or even just the two of you, there’s nothing wrong with an Easter egg hunt. Now, if you do this, make sure you or someone you know is standing guard so she doesn’t miss the ring or someone else doesn’t accidentally acquire it. A cute idea would be to plant the egg somewhere, if you’re not doing an actual hunt, and be like, “Oh, look, an Easter egg! I wonder if there’s anything in it.” OK, ok, maybe that’s a little cheesy. I’d still totally fall for it.

2. Surprise Easter Basket. Surprise your girl with a traditional Easter basket full of special treats. This could be a collection of pictures from your relationship, little clues/pieces of your past, or just the traditional chocolate eggs. Whatever you want to put in it, don’t forget the ring or something that leads her to know you’re about to drop to one knee!

3. Dessert first? Everyone is using cupcakes for everything these days. Find a local gourmet bakery that will plant your ring in the dessert. Bring them for just the two of you on the holiday, and make sure you know which one she’ll want. Another idea? Place your engagement ring at the bottom of a jar (preferably small) and fill it with jelly beans. Tell your girlfriend you couldn’t think of something else to give her, and you hope she likes the flavors! Just make sure she knows they’re to share and that she gets to the bottom for a surprise!

4. Out in My Easter Bonnet.  Take your partner to church on Easter Sunday. Plan ahead to know the page numbers in the hymnal from which the church will select the morning’s songs (if your church still does this). Choose the first song page to hide your engagement ring along with a proposal note in the hymnal. When your partner opens the hymnal and reads your note, you’ll get your answer. If it’s yes, place the ring on her finger and celebrate Easter and a marriage proposal she’ll never forget. If your church doesn’t use hymnals, maybe enlist the help of your minister/team to have the question go up on the screen during the service at an appropriate time. Excuse yourself to the bathroom before it happens, then go up on stage and call her down to answer! Of course, I would suggest only doing this if you really know the answer.

Proposal on the Ellen Show

Kirby is a do-gooder that helps kids in OK get pumped for reading. She raises money for a local kids shelter to donate books, and tries constantly to do good things for the school she works at. She also travels to kids homes to help them with their reading.

So, in other words, she’s a saint. And she’s the sweetest (at least, that’s how she comes across).

Ellen had her on the show once as receiving a surprise, and then she got to actually be in the show. If you skip to about 3:45, Ellen asks Kirby if she’s single, and then around 4:00 her boyfriend appears.

Kirby is already over the moon to be a part of the show, and then when Jason proposes, she’s pretty much blown away. I think it may help that at the end they’re given $10,000 to JC Penny for their wedding registry.

Who can not love a proposal on The Ellen Show?

Whole family enacts a Pride & Prejudice proposal

Bethany was coming home for the holidays. What she wasn’t expecting, was to return to her parents’ house in Tacoma, Washington to her sisters exclaiming, “Mr. Bingley has returned to Netherfield at least!”

While she was surprised, it didn’t take Bethany long to catch on as her third sister dressed her in a Regency dress.

Bethany’s best friend and boyfriend of ten months, David, was hiding in a closet, waiting to make his debut as Mr. Darcy. He had taken the proposal scene straight from Pride and Prejudice. Bethany’s entire family was in on it, slowly joining as characters. Bethany couldn’t help but laugh off and on through it all, but apparently her family did a pretty good job at keeping in their respective roles.

Bethany and David met swing dancing at The University of Washington. Bethany was an English Literature Major, and if you didn’t guess, Pride and Prejudice is one of her favorite books. Clearly, David knew the way to get her attention was to speak with her love of literature.

I promised my little sister I’d make her future boyfriend/fiance do this. Can we all just bow down to David who mastered the proposal?

Rooftop Serenade Proposal

Darren told Leann they were just going to a special rooftop bar for a quiet drink. If you call renting an exclusive space in London and filling it with 70 singers “quiet”, then I guess she wasn’t very surprised.

Did you catch the sarcasm there?

I love that Leann is a little thrown off by the atmosphere. When they first arrive, she’s almost downing the bar, telling Darren how strange it is and the waitresses’ attire is. And when the first man starts singing (2:00), she has no idea. However, around 2:50, Leann starts to realize that it’s all for her.

As the first song comes to an end, Darren gets down on one knee (4:00) and asks Leann to spend the rest of her life with him in front of everyone present. She says yes, and you notice that everyone celebrates as they wipe away some stray tears.

The video continues with some fun music for the lovebirds. Keep watching if you want to enjoy some more!

Pitt State Basketball Proposal

Y’Cedria is being recognized during her senior year at Pitt State for basketball. What she isn’t expecting, is that her boyfriend (also a former basketball player) is going to propose!

After being presented with her fellow teammates, Y’Cedria is told she’s being honored with a “special recognition” and is asked to step forward (around 2:00). It isn’t until around 2:30, when her boyfriend appears, that she finally realizes what’s going on.

Her reaction and he starts proposing? “Really?” Excitedly said, of course.

Proposals that have so many people in on them are, in my opinion, much more difficult to keep a secret. That’s what makes moments like these even more fantastic!
