Glee’s Matthew Morrison Engaged!

Matthew Morrison, popularly known as Mr. Schuester, of Fox’s Glee, popped the question to girlfriend of two years, Renee Puente.

The news was announced at the White Tie and Tiara Ball in London on June 27 by Morrison’s friends, Elton John and David Furnish. In honor of the couple’s news, Elton John and Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, did a duet of “Your Song”.

This is the first marriage for Morrison, 34, and Puente, 26.

Let’s hope Morrison put his song and dance skills to use with his proposal!

Holly Madison Engaged!

Holly Madison, the former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner (Playboy founder), is now engaged! Holly dated her beau and baby-daddy, Pasquele Rotella, for two years. The two proud parents of Rainbow Aurora are considering tying the knot in August of this year.  Talk about a short planning period!

Holly shared the news on her official blog not even twenty-four hours ago!

I got engaged on Sunday! My fiancé was so wonderful in creating such a romantic night! He proposed to me at the top of the Ferris wheel at EDC Las Vegas. I was so happy that so many of our close friends were there to share the wonderful moment with us! We rode around the festival on the art car until the sun came up! I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful or magical proposal! And a big thank you to Denise Truscello for capturing every moment of this very special night!!

Talk about an awesome proposal and an exciting engagement. We could not be happier for the couple! And, seriously, check out that rock on her finger! Well done Pasquale!

Working Proposal

Patrick finds an opportunity for a wonderfully surprising proposal.

Melody was due to do a presentation for her work morning “huddle”. Little did she know that Patrick and all her co-workers would hack her video to insert his proposal video. The great part about this is he doesn’t just do a cute video. Just when “the question” is about to appear on screen, it blacks out (2:10) and he appears in a tux with a rose.

“You didn’t think I’d propose in a video?”

After the tears, exclamations of, “Baby!” and the applause, Patrick commences to apologize for hacking Melody’s presentation that she worked so hard on.

I love how she still says, “I worked on it all night!”

Somehow, I don’t think it was wasted time!

A Second Proposal

This video shows how truly important a proposal can be. If you don’t exactly hit a homerun the first time, there is nothing wrong with proposing again!

Dave decided his proposal to his now-wife, Jackie, wasn’t good enough. He had been gushing and nervous and just didn’t go all out. After hearing about a proposal a friend did, he was impressed and realized his proposal was “nothing special”. He wanted to change that.

He enlisted the help of their mutual friend, Jan, to help him with the proposal. His wife is very involved with cheerleading and thinks her husband has no interest. Dave jumped on this opportunity to show her how much he loves everything about her (and everything she is interested in).

At a competition, he emerges in front of a magnitude of people, gets down on one knee, and presents his wife with flowers and a charm bracelet that represents their life together (thus far).

This man is a new hero of mine. Most men would just realize they didn’t do their best with a proposal and let it be (or even not realize it). This many wanted to go all out again. I’d say he definitely earned a gold medal.

Seasons of Love: A Musical Proposal

All Jodi wants is for life to be more like a musical. In order to make her proposal special her boyfriend, Dan, decides to make her wish come true.

With a group of friends and family, Jodi is lead around Chicago by people singing musical selections we can only assume are relevant to the couples’ relationship. From Bon Jovi to Rent, the singers do a decent job of helping Jodi’s dream come true.

If you want to skip ahead, the boyfriend reappears around 9:30 where he finally drops to one knee.

But, wait, that’s not the end! He leads her to “The Bean” in Chicago’s Millenium Park where everyone is gathered holding signs with “Daniel and Jodi” on them and singing, “Seasons of Love”.

If nothing else, watch the end of the video for one musical number and remember the love.

Jennifer Love Hewitt: Baby News Before Engagement

Just a day after Jennifer Love Hewitt announced that she was expecting her first child, she announced her engagement to her baby’s daddy, Brian Hallisay.

Hallisay and Hewitt, both 34, were costars on the NBC series Love Bites, and then rekindled things when working on Lifetime’s The Client List. They dated for about 15 months before their engagement and to-be-parents-status were announced.

While this isn’t exactly new news, I’m wondering why the couples decided to announce the pregnancy before the engagement. After all, the baby-news got a lot of buzz. Were they afraid of one overshadowing the other? Perhaps. This is definitely a fine-line to walk. Whether they announced they were expecting or they were engaged first, odds are the media was likely to pounce and pin the engagement on the news that Hewitt is pregnant. Who’s to say that they are getting married just because they are pregnant? Looks to me like this couple is blissfully happy with or without Hewitt’s pregnancy glow!

So what do you think will come first: a  wedding or baby?

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Lip-Dub Proposal

Brad is proposing to Emily. These days, though, proposals are never that simple, right? Even “simple” proposals go all out.

As they pull up to a park, Brad starts playing the filmer’s “favorite song”. Suddenly, more friends  appear in front of the car lip-syncing the exact same tune. Coincidence? Of course not.

Brad leads Emily through the park running into friends and family alike to the tune. Everyone is dancing and “singing” along. I love Emily’s reactions to some of the friends and family, who are clearly not people she sees regularly.

As if the LipDub wasn’t enough, Emily is lead to the beach at the end of the show. There she follows a trail of letters and notes written for her. These notes contain favorite memories, things he loves about her, etc. At the very end there’s a screen set up with a video from friends and family about how wonderful Emily is, and how wonderful she and Brad are together. It ends with one of her students telling her that Brad is going to put a ring on her finger, and she should say yes.

Cue amazing boyfriend, kneeling behind her on the beach. I mean… could anyone really say no after this?

This truly has to be my favorite proposal yet. It’s so fun, involves everyone, and clearly shows how fabulous the couple is. I may have watched it a few times… and that may have involved a few tears as well (I’m such a sap).

A Post-Cript Proposal

Gabe and Laura met at a job where they graded student essays. No one was allowed to speak, so they passed post-it notes back and forth while working. To make his proposal extra special, Gabe decided to use their old method of communication.

The first two minutes of this video is them taking pictures. I’m pretty sure the man Gabe casually asks to take a picture of them was hired (since he emerges from behind the video camera, and then while Gabe is proposing he’s snapping like a professional-madman).

If you want to skip to the good part, start at about 2:30. Gabe tells Laura to look down on the ground, where he’s dropped a very important note.

I love that there’s a post-it in the ring box (with the ring) popping the question, too. So precious.

The Engagement Diet

Let’s be honest. Most women (if not all) worry about their diet. Even if women “don’t care”, they are going through steps to do it. Does that make sense?

Sometimes a ring on the finger adds to that stress. After all, you want to be the bell of the ball on your wedding day. You don’t want your bridesmaids or guests showing you up, right? So all of a sudden you start planning this crash-course-diet to follow for the next x-amount of months in order to get your dream body by your wedding day.

Take a step back, woman.

Here are my three suggestions.

1. Get everyone on board. Be honest and share your hopes/dreams with your wedding party (at least your closest bridesmaids and your groom) about your size/shape/toning for your wedding day. Let them know how important it is to you, and assign people different tasks. For example, your maid of honor is supposed to keep you from drinking soda (or whatever it is you want to cut out), and bridesmaid #1 is supposed to exercise with you at least three times a week. Set goals together to make it less stressful.

2. Give yourself a break. As in, if you’re trying to make a lot of changes, take it one step at a time. Skip dessert and be happy about it. Eat a few less carbs and reward yourself with a manicure. Find ways to keep yourself motivated and happy. Don’t let stress and pressure get the best of you.

3. Quality time. Your fiancee proposed to you. He loves you. Don’t push him away during your engagement by going all crazy about your diet. Spend some quality time together and remind yourself that he’s the one, and he loves you no matter what (and you should, too)!

Sea Lion Proposal

People are coming up with more and more gutsy proposals. Proposing in front of a crowd is intense. I mean, can you imagine if the girl said no?

This man had the help of the trainers at the St. Louis, MO zoo. The woman was called up as a volunteer to help retrieve a frisbee from Robby the Sea Lion. As you see in the video, she is very unsuspecting. It isn’t until the trainer tells her to turn the frisbee over and read it that she whirls around to find her boyfriend. He promptly drops to one knee and proposes.

I love that all the while, there’s Robby the Sea Lion still performing behind them. He seems to be happy for the couple… or just happy he’s still receiving his treats!

By the way, you may want to start the video around 0:30 or 0:40. The camera work in the beginning is a bit shifty.
