Follow Up- Home Depot Proposal on Ellen!

So, remember the Home Depot Proposal I shared with you? If not, here it is to refresh your memory!

Well, this video has over NINE MILLION HITS on YouTube! Of course this got Ellen’s attention, and she decided to have them on her show. And since Ellen is a Fairy Godmother, not only does she get sponsors for their honeymoon, but she gets them $10,000. She wanted to celebrate that love is love.

The summary? If you want to get Ellen’s attention, have one outstanding proposal that shows how much love you’re in. Congratulations, again, to Dustin and Spencer!

 

Horseback Proposal

This video is short, sweet, and funny!

Rebekah is riding and all the while Andy is in the middle of the pen on one knee with the ring in plain view. You hear him saying, “No idea. No idea. No idea.” He’s saying this because it takes her forever to finally realize what’s going on! They have a friend filming and everything, and nothing!

When she finally sees what Andy is about, she stops the horse and commences crying, not sure what she should do. He asks her if she wants to get down, and she just nods her head. Talk about a reaction!

I love how they interpret the horse into the pictures. Make sure to look at them at the end of the video!

Home Depot Proposal

Dustin thinks he’s going to Home Depot to help his roommate pick out some lighting for a party. When he’s lead to the lumber section, a group of friends and family surprise him by dancing to Betty Who’s “Somebody Loves You”. As more and more people emerge, I can only imagine what he was thinking.

And then, around 2:50, Spencer comes in and joins the dance, handing off a sign to Dustin with lyrics from the song that read, “If I am good to you… won’t you be good to me?”

At the end of the dance, Spencer leads Dustin down from where he was standing and drops to one knee (around 3:45).

Beautiful. And how wonderful for all their friends and family to be there as support.

 

Football Game Proposal Ideas

It’s that time of year again! The air is getting cooler, the evenings are starting to get shorter, and football has begun.

I am personally not a huge football fan… but I am vastly outnumbered. Which is why I thought this post would be appropriate! Here are my three ideas for football fans to use their passion and propose during a game.

1. Make it local. If you grew up in the same hometown, go on an “old-fashioned” date to your alma matter’s football game. Find your perfect opportunity (on or off the field) and pop the question while strolling down memory lane! This doesn’t have to be on the high school level, either. If you attended the same college that happens to be a football school (good or bad), that works, too! Using memories with your proposal always seems to bring on the waterworks, though, so be warned!

2. Use halftime. Whether you have the opportunity to lead her on to the field and propose, or use the marching band to help you pop the question, what could be more romantic? This goes without saying if you played (or play) football or you were in (or are in) the marching band! I think this would be more on the high school or college level. But, come on! Who hasn’t watched 10 Things I Hate About You and envisioned their sweetie convincing the marching band to do a number while he dances and sings in the bleachers? Just switch it up a bit and make it during a game. Talk about declaring your love!

3. Go pro. If you are both football fans, take her to a pro football game (or college, if you aren’t a NFL fan). My older sister is a Green Bay Packers fan and my brother-in-law is all about the Dallas Cowboys, so you can imagine the tension this time of year. If you root for different teams, what better way to propose than to take her to a game where they are playing each other? Or just surprise her and take her to see her favorite team– it will show her you can put her (and her team) before yourself.

Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blues Dancers Proposal

Jeff wanted to have a special proposal for Amanda. Amanda was a Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blues Dancer in 2012, so he wanted to incorporate her passion in his proposal. He got the current dancers of 2013 to let him propose during/right after one of their performances.

The only thing that confused me a little bit was his direction. Was he facing her in the audience, or was she back stage and he was proposing to the camera? I could have sworn I saw her briefly early in the video in the background of the dancers.

Whichever way, she loved it. She was jumping up and down, kissing him nonstop… I’d say he did an excellent job! The proposal starts at 1:28.

Alexa Vega and Carlos Pena are engaged!

Alexa Vega, known mainly for her role in the Spy Kids movies, is engaged to Carlos Pena of Big Time Rush. This is Pena’s first marriage, but Vega’s second. 25 and on to marriage number two? I was definitely surprised!

Vega and Pena have been together around a year. The couple announced their engagement via Instagram on September 11, 2013. Vega posted a picture that said, “Hello finance,” while Pena posted a picture of Vega with her engagement ring in sight (yet no comments about being engaged).

I have to say, the two are pretty adorable together. Congrats to the couple!

Australian X Factor Proposal

The Autralian X Factor had quite a show when they agreed to help Greg propose to his girlfriend, Rita.

The proposal begins around 3:20 of the video when Greg begins his speech. He doesn’t drop to one knee until about 3:45.

 

My favorite part is that the two hosts interrupt him and go to the “judges” about Greg’s performance.

The judges? They’re Greg’s dad and Rita’s mom! Poor Rita is left holding Greg’s hand just waiting to accept him

She finally gets the chance at 5:16 when she says, “Yes, baby!”

Spectacular Beach Proposal

Fall is approaching and so are fall proposals, but I couldn’t resist taking one more step back to check out this amazing beach proposal!

Taylor wanted to make a truly spectacular proposal. He and his now fiance, Dani, are both in school in Utah. Dani decided to go home the week and a half before school started to have some time with her family and friends, and Taylor decided to take advantage of it. He made a video of all the places they kissed (an “inside joke” sort of thing with the two of them) and she came across this awesome layout on the beach to watch it!

Her girlfriends and family were all in on it. As she watched, they gathered around her, and Taylor was on the beach somewhere! Once the video ended, he appears behind her, drops to one knee, and asks her to be his wife.

This happens around 6:50. All the kissing places go on, and on, and on. But, truly, how sweet?

How creative, thoughtful, and amazing is this?

 

Labor Day Weekend Celebrity Engagements- Recap!

Labor Day Weekend seemed to be the weekend of love for celebrities! Three definite engagements and one going around the rumor mill. Who was it, you ask? Well keep on scrolling for the news!

1. Lance Bass, the former ‘N Sync dreamboat, popped the question to his boyfriend of two years, Michael Turchin, in New Orleans. Bass stated he had a hard time finding a ring for his afianced, but I’d say he did a good job!

 

 

 

2. Katie Couric, in case you missed the post, has finally found love after being a widow since 1998. John Molner had a bit of a time proposing to her. Apparently he started telling her how much he loved her on the beach, and she kept interrupting him! He finally had to TELL her he was trying to propose!

3. Scarlett Johansson’s reportedly engaged to her French beau Romain Dauriac! This has not been confirmed by her rep yet but… ummm… check out the ROCK that is conveniently located on her left ring finger… just saying.

 

 

 

 

So… who’s floating around the rumor mill?

Pippa Middleton is rumored to be off the market and happily engaged to her stockbroker boyfriend, Nico Jackson, of just six months. After rumors started circulating, a ring that was seen was then not there anymore. However, even more is going around that the engagement should be confirmed after her birthday. The couple is crazy in love together, but didn’t want to take any shine away from Katie, William, and the baby. No offense, Pippa, but I don’t think you needed to worry there!

 

 

Last, but certainly not least, Mila Kunis stepped out with a simple, thin gold band on that finger. While it definitely doesn’t scream ENGAGEMENT, it definitely has started some buzz circling Kunis and Ashton Kutcher’s relationship. This is personally one of my favorite couples at the moment. Jackie and Kelso, at last! (Watch That ’70s Show if unfamiliar with the reference!
