Video-Gimmick Proposal
Beecher told April they were making a music video about their relationship. April said it was because it was the only day they had free to do it when Beecher asked her why they were making it. Little did she know there’d be a surprise at the end of the day; the reason for the video– Beecher was proposing.
The video goes through big moments in their relationship. The day they met, a Christmas ball, finding two amazing shells on the beach, and more. It’s so precious to watch these two re-create their relationship with some music and fun dance moves.
Skip ahead to about 3:40 when they do a “run through” of a part of the video where Beecher is on one side of a door and April is coming through it. The run through doesn’t offer anything suspicious, but when she comes through for the actual take, Beecher is kneeling in front of her.
While April does look stunned, and asks, “Is this for real?” I have a hard time believing she didn’t suspect anything. I mean, maybe she did but didn’t want to get her hopes up? I just think women always suspect.
These two are precious together. And this video could not be, from what I see, more “them”.

Videogame Proposal Fad
Just as flash mobs tend to be “typical” for proposals, it seems more and more guys are choosing to propose via internet or technology.
When Daniel learned that his girlfriend’s favorite game producers had developed a game where you can create your own stories to play with your friends, he seized the opportunity and used it to his advantage. Only it wasn’t just to play together– it was for a proposal.
Here Daniel and Dolores are, sitting down and supposedly testing out this new, brilliant game when all of a sudden the character on the screen is unlocking a chest, finding a ring, and being proposed to… on screen. Just in time, Daniel drops from his chair to his knees and almost shoves the ring at Dolores.
I’m not sure how I feel about this. Don’t get me wrong. This was beautiful, and I’m so happy for the couple. But I just don’t know if I would want to be proposed to this way.
I mean, if you’re big gamers and that’s something you enjoy together, then sure. This also goes for YouTube videos or even if most of your relationship has been through Skype. But something about it seems to take away from the moment for me. I mean, shouldn’t a proposal be intimate? Yes, it’s creative… but do you really want a screen doing the work for you? What do you think?

Dolphin-Assisted Proposal
Tamp Bay Rays player Alex Cobb decided to propose. As a professional athlete, he has a few tricks up his sleeves that we all may not be able to copy, but this one could be reachable!
There they are in Discovery Cove swimming with dolphins when along a dolphin comes with a buoy in his mouth. All of a sudden the girl starts crying, not sure if he’s serious or not. Before long they’re kissing, she’s nodding, and people are cheering.
If you didn’t guess (or can’t quite see it), the buoy says, “Will You Marry Me?”
I’m not sure buoy is the correct term, but you get the idea.
Swimming with dolphins is on my bucket list. I don’t know about you, but this proposal would totally win me over, and not just for obvious reasons. I think it’s “simple” compared to many proposals, and so special and memorable.

The Proposers Struggle with A Flash Mob Proposal on London’s Hungerford Bridge
This week, The Proposers once again face a challenge in the second episode of their new TV Series. Daisy and Tiffany are organizing a huge flash mob on London Hungerford bridge!
“Things got stressful when, on the day of the proposal, Daisy had to remove some street entertainers from the Bridge so that the proposal could take place but she pulled it off.” says Tiffany. But everything ended up going smoothly and everybody couldn’t have been happier. “The main thing I remember is, when the proposal was over and Daisy and I were on our way home, we just looked at each other and burst into tears. It had been such a romantic, thoughtful proposal that it really pulled at our heart strings!” says Tiffany.

Help! They’re Jealous of My Ring!
Chapter 2: How to deal with all these people who are jealous of your ring and your engagement
When an Unengaged Friend Rants About How They Wish They Had a Ring Like Yours
Talk about awkward. Even though it’s not your fault your friend can’t celebrate your life milestone without making it about her, just smile and rise above. While in theory, all friends should be able to celebrate with you, this may not be the person you should share all your fairy tale wedding plans with so don’t force the issue. Focus on something else you and this friend have in common or make an effort to be extra interested in something going on in her life. You don’t have to necessarily degrade your ring or self-deprecate your happiness, but at the same time, it’s probably just better to talk about the new tapas restaurant that’s coming to town and when you should plan your next girls’ night.
Things to avoid making it worse:
– Talk non-stop about your wedding even though your friend will most likely cover her ears and start shouting “LALALALALA!”
– Tell her it’s not your fault she’s not engaged, or alone, or…yeah don’t go there.
– Buy her one of those “diamond candle” that guarantee a ring inside at watch it burn until she can recover the diamond….or plastic gum ball machine ring.
– Buy her multiple cats (Bad move, ladies. Bad move)
When your ring is bigger/more expensive than someone’s and they are being petty, change the subject.
While your first instinct may be to slug the rudeness right out of them, it’s probably not good wedding juju to start your own Bride War just yet (especially since avoiding any kind of black is good for the upcoming engagement pictures. Am I right?) Simply look for a positive thing to compliment your acquaintance on or change the subject. Asking them for their proposal story is a great way to get them focused on their own happiness rather than whatever it is that’s bugging them about yours
Things to avoid making it worse:
– Saying “OMG you’re totes right. My diamond could eat your’s for breakfast!”
– Taking a big ol’ lick of your ring like it’s a ring pop (not only is it not sanitary, but princess cut diamonds are sharp!
– Putting yourself down: Often, I found myself quickly saying, “Oh, but your’s means more since he picked it out” because we won our ginormous ring in an online contest through Simon G. Jewelry. No. The jealous person’s ring DOESN’T mean more. They’re just being jerks.
– Also, don’t tell them they’re being a jerk. They may try to spill red wine on your dress later, which is probably something you’re going to want to avoid.

4 Creative, Budget-Friendly Proposals
All these amazing proposal videos sometimes make me wonder just how much some of these guys spent on their proposals. I’m not giving them a hard time, don’t get me wrong. I think if you have the means, you should use them. But what about the people who may not have funds to make their proposal positively crazy?
Here are 4 budget-friendly, yet creative proposal ideas that can be amazing, over-the-top, and yet not put a gigantic hole in your pocket.
1. Take me to the zoo. I know, I know. Those of you who are endearing snow right now are giving me a look. But when it warms up, what better way to celebrate than go to your local zoo? I don’t care what anyone says. It makes girls happy (unless they have views on it, in which case you better skip to number 2). Buy the tickets, which usually aren’t ridiculously priced unless you’re in San Diego or something, and when approached by a photographer or in the area to get a photo done, use your timing to drop to one knee. The photographer can capture the surprise, and you’ll only be spending around $20 on a picture rather than a lot more on a professional photographer to follow you around. Or, even better, have a friend staged somewhere near your girl’s favorite animal, ready to jump out and snap a shot when you propose.
2. Plan a flash mob. This is one trend that is popular, and not expensive. You don’t have to go crazily over-the-top with this. Get some friends and family together, set up a boom box, and let them go to work with it. You can come upon the flash mob with maybe a less-known friend of yours, and then have the family and friends appear gradually. By the time she knows what’s going on, you could join in the fun and propose!
3. Family dinner/surprise party. This is extra special if your other half doesn’t get to see her family all that much. Plan a huge get together with both families for your big moment. If you make it a pot-luck/barbecue type get-together, you can ask everyone to bring something. Also, if it’s not a surprise, she may suspect even less until the big moment!
4. Just the two of you. There is nothing wrong, nor demeaning, of keeping the proposal cozy. Have a night in with your favorite movie and popcorn, or let her pick that chick-flick she’s been dying to watch. Make it special, intimate, and all about your relationship. Feel the moment out, and just remember everyone will ask how it was done, so try to keep it PG!

Sadie Hawkins Valentine’s Day Proposal
Angie had been waiting awhile. She and Pat had a seven-year-old-son together, and she was past ready for the commitment of marriage. So she sent in a message/ hashtag to a contest to help “fix her Valentine” and prepared for a Sadie Hawkins proposal.
What does this mean? It means she wasn’t waiting for Pat to propose anymore. She was going to propose to him. And, of course, it had to be on Valentine’s Day.
Angie waited outside of Pat’s work with a sign and Valentine’s Day themed balloons. With her was their son. The sign read, “Will You Marry Us?” A sweet way to propose as a family.
I think this was pretty precious, but I wonder if the way the proposal was done pressured Pat into a definite yes. After all, how can you say no to your kid?

Creative Gamer Proposal
Robert wanted to do something really special for his girlfriend. They’re both pretty into gaming, so Robert decided to create a game just for his special someone and have her play it. Little did she know that in the end the knight in shining armor, literally, would propose to the maiden he had been searching far and wide for.
The first few minutes of this are just of the game. If you’re interested, watch it. If not, skip ahead to 3:00 where the screen comes up for the proposal. The only thing I want to know is if Robert was behind her with a ring, or if he’s the one recording. While we get to see her reaction, I’d like to see him actually proposing, wouldn’t you?
I have to admit, though, this is pretty adorable. She gets to choose yes or no on the game. After selecting “yes”, the screen reads CONGRATULATIONS! However, the end screen shows a heart that tells her she could do better! Clearly Robert is modest, in a way.

Musical LAX Proposal
Malia was returning from visiting her parents and expected for her boyfriend, Justin, to be picking her up at the airport. What she didn’t expect was to be welcomed by not one, not two, but SIX guitarists leading the way to Justin.
At first Malia didn’t quite understand what was going on, but when she noticed Justin’s mom and a few friends recording what was going on, she may have clued in. Was she expecting him to propose? Not necessarily. She just kept expecting the next singer to be Justin… but it got bigger, and bigger, and bigger!
The songs they’re all playing, by the way, are songs Justin actually wrote for Malia. Finally she arrives to where Justin is waiting for her, and he drops to one knee. Can you imagine her saying no?
Why the airport, you ask? These two were together for four and a half years, three and half of those years together were long distance. That’s never easy. So, the airport, in a sense, had quite a bit of history for the couple, and Justin chose that as his inspiration.
Pretty darn adorable.
