Great advice that actually makes sense, whether you’re headed to the beach, staying in hotels, or just want to wear your jewelry with confidence. These are her must-know Dos and Don’ts for protecting your jewelry while you’re on the move, without compromising on style.

DO:

• Wear your jewelry confidently. If you have dedicated insurance, you’re protected against common risks like damage, loss, or theft.
• Use a secure travel pouch. Choose one with a zipper or clasp to keep jewelry from tangling or slipping out while in transit.
• Store valuables in a secure hotel safe. Use a safe with a code that only you know, avoid relying on the standard in-room safes.

DON’T:

• Don’t wear rings in water. Water (pool, ocean, lake) can make your fingers slippery, increasing the chance of losing your ring. Sand and salt can also damage metal and prongs.
• Don’t post flashy jewelry photos while traveling. Save the glam shots for after your trip to avoid unwanted attention.
• Don’t toss jewelry in your suitcase. Loose items are more likely to get damaged or lost. Always hand-carry jewelry or wear it while traveling.
