5 Foliage Proposal Ideas

One thing that makes fall such an extraordinary season is the changing of the leaves. No one can deny that there is a certain atmosphere when the green changes to bright hues of orange, red, and yellow.

With atmosphere comes opportunity. Here are five foliage-themed proposal ideas.

1. Go for a drive. If you live somewhere that has some wonderful country to drive through, there’s nothing more romantic than taking a little road trip to enjoy the colors. You don’t even have to have a destination. Take your camera and snap shots of your favorite colors and backdrops. When the time is right, you can either pull out the ring in the car or pull over for a certain spot and take the traditional stance.

Note: All of these ideas offer the time to use a little pun and tell your sweetie about FALL-ing in love with her. Get it?

2. Play in the leaves. If you’ve ever watched It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!, you know one of the best parts is when Linus runs and jumps into the humongous pile of leaves Charlie Brown just finished raking. Go back to your child-like senses and play in the leaves with your finance-to-be! In the midst of this fun, pull the ring out (make sure it doesn’t FALL out of your pocket) and go for it!

3. Bouquet of leaves. This may seem silly, but if fall is her favorite season then I think it’s perfectly acceptable to do this! You may not want to use REAL leaves, since they can break and make a nice mess, but presenting her with a bouquet of silk-colored leaves could go over nicely!

4. Make a wreath. Pull out your creative side and make a wreath with some colorful leaves and a, “Will You Marry Me?” sign! Hang it on her door and be waiting inside her apartment (or nearby if you don’t have a key) with the ring! Not so creative? Places like Target and craft stores almost ALWAYS have kits you can use this time of year to make wreaths!

5. Alternative. Are none of these your style? Use some leaves to decorate the table for a fall feast prepared in honor of your more-than-likely-engagement!

Happy Fall!
