5 Ways to Propose in London

So you’ve hot footed it onto a plane and have landed in London for a weekend of romance. But if you want to take that extra special step and propose whilst visiting this gorgeous capital, you need to think about where and how. After all, London offers some stunning spots to pop the question. With the help of UK Proposal Planner Tiffany Wright , we tell you the top spots to propose in London…and how to make it that extra bit special.

The London Eye

Why?   With over 5000 couples getting engaged in a pod over looking the city of London, I certainly has the wow and romance factor, especially if you opt to hire a private pod complete with champagne waiter and strawberries

Add some extra sparkle: But do you really want to propose in the same way 5000 people have before you? UK based proposal planners The Proposers suggest you do something with a bit more ‘sparkle’ to really wow your other half. “We have lots of guys who come to us wanting to propose on the London Eye but we think every proposal should be different as every couple if different” says Tiffany. “ So, why not pull out all the stops. Hire a group of singers who get into your pod and pretend to be tourists, Then as you reach the top of the london eye, they begin to sing your partner favourite song whilst you get down on one knee.” The Proposers seem to know what thyme are talking about. Hampstead Heath

Why? With gorgeous views over London and acres and acres of green parkland, this is the perfect place to propose if you are in the big city but want to be surrounded by nature.

Add some extra sparkle: Rather than just proposing on bended knee why not set up a surprise picnic for your loved one in the middle of the park. Hampstead heath also has a gorgeous vintage bandstand that can be hired (perfect if it decides to rain). To make your proposal picnic even more perfect, why not personalise it to your partners taste. The Proposers arranged an Alice in Wonderland themed picnic in the park, complete with Alice cupcakes, a white rabbit and a pack of playing  cars with the words “Marry me” on it.

Tower Bridge

Why?  Tower Bridge boasts some of the most stunning views out over the river and across London.

Add some extra sparkle: With views like this, you really don’t need to do much more to make the proposal mind blowing. But hiring out the walkway so that you have it just for yourself is really advisable. This then means that before the proposal you can fill the walkway with photos of the two of you, or make a pathway of rose petals for your partner to walk through.

The River Thames / Southbank

Why: There is nowhere as beautiful in London than on a crisp autumn day taking a walk along the Southbank beside the Thames. Proposing with Westminster and the houses of parliament behind you make a stunning backdrop

Add some extra sparkle: To personalise you proposal and make it even more memorable why not hire a photographer to secretly follow you on your walk.  If your other half loves the British film Love Actually then why not act out a scene from it by holding up signs telling her how you feel about her.

Somerset House and Horse Guards Parade

Why? IF you are heading to London over Xmas then proposing at the outdoor skating rink at  the historic Somerset house could be the perfect Christmas present.

Add some extra sparkle:  Why not start your day with an ice-skate at Somerset House but then arrange for a horse and carriage to collect you and take you to Horse Guards Parade. Proposing in front of this stunning building (with lots of British history), whilst a singer serenades you will guarantee a YES.

All of the above proposals have been arranged by UK based proposal planners The Proposers. The Proposers can help you come up with unique proposal ideas in the UK and wordwide. Check them out at www.theproposers.co.uk
