If you want to divert a bit from the traditional round brilliant cut engagement ring, a cushion or asscher cut center stone is fine alternative. Both cuts have grown in popularity recently and are both great ways to rock a classic engagement ring with a slightly unique cut.
An asscher cut is similar to an emerald cut except rounded and with more brilliance, like the ring to the left. A cushion cut is similar to an asscher cut except rectangular and resembles a pillow.
