A Grand Canyon Proposal

How They Met

“My fiancé’s grandparents own a swimming pool store. Almost 10 years ago, I began working there after his uncle suggested I apply for the job. My fiancé’s sister worked there and I became good friends with her. She played a big part in introducing us. It was love at first sight.”

The Proposal

“I keep looking at the beautiful diamond on my finger and getting lost in how much I love my fiancé and how surreal and perfect his proposal was. On October 24, 2013, while on a vacation in Las Vegas, my whole world changed in the most magnificent way.

“The day started with a luxurious limo ride to the helicopter terminal were we would take a journey of a lifetime. Sitting upfront in the helicopter, we took a breathtaking tour which included Lake Mead, The Hoover Dam, and ancient volcanoes. We then landed down inside the Grand Canyon. Wow! Never had I seen a place so beautiful! Little did I know my fiancé had a plan to make this already amazing day so much better. He had asked another tourist to capture photos of his proposal, which I am so thankful for. I had absolutely no idea he was planning this moment, it was such a surprise!

“As he got down on one knee, I was literally speechless, I thought I was going to faint! How lucky was I to get engaged to the man of my dreams at one of the most spectacular wonders of the world! After enjoying a delightful lunch and champagne toast in the Grand Canyon, we headed back and caught a remarkable view of the Las Vegas strip from above. The rest of our vacation consisted of taking in all of the sights of Vegas as well as a couple days spent in sunny California. It was a vacation of a lifetime. I look back on it now and I’m still in awe. It was a truly spectacular day and vacation, from beginning to end. I’m convinced that fairy tales really do exist.”

The Engagement Ring

“The ring is custom, designed by my fiancé. we call each other “bean” so he had what looks to be bean pods made out of diamonds in the shank of the ring. Even a small diamond accent was added to the back of the band. It’s a flawless one carat diamond, 18k white gold ring.”
