A game of pool proposal

Alecia & Taylor

Gackle, North Dakota

How they met :

Taylor and I graduated from high school together, and have practically known each other since we were in kindergarten. While growing up, we never really took much intrest in one another. However, after we graduated high school in 2010, we began to communicate more frequently. My parents farm and my dad needed a hired man to help with the harvest. I guess it only took one ride in the tractor with him and he was conviced to ask me out to a movie date. Our first movie was “The Expendables”. While watching the movie, he offered to hold my hand, which completely shocked me, since I thought this date was only supposed to be two friends going out, although, secretly I hoped for more. After we got back to my farm, we drank sparkling water and took a short walk outside where he kissed me under the stars on that warm August 15th night. And the rest is history!

The proposal :

He proposed by asking me if I wanted to play a game of pool at his house. As I was clearing out the pool pockets, I noticed a shinny, red box hidden under a few of the cue balls. I pulled it out and asked, “what is this?” He then managed to get down on one knee and ask me to marry him. As you guessed, I was in tears and laughing and he of course was as nervous as can be. I gladly said yes about an hour later when he reminded me that I had not given him an answer. I guess you could say that I was so excited and stunned that I forgot to say yes!!

The engagement ring:

The ring is a vintage style. It is an emerald cut, encased in smaller diamonds. The band is thicker and spit with diamonds on both sides! I LOVE my ring!!
