How they met
After dating for two years, Iris grew to accept the fact that Alastair didn’t seem to be the marrying type. Knowing what Iris assumed, however, Alastair secretly started searching for an engagement ring.

How he proposed
During a vacation to Thailand, the couple stayed at the wonderful JW Marriott in Phuket. Alastair specifically had chosen this particular resort to propose to Iris. The couple is a big supporter of turtle preservation programs, and the beaches of the resort serve as a nesting area for the turtles in Mai Khao beach.

The first night of their stay, Alastair and Iris took a romantic walk around the protected beach of the resort. The weather was perfect, the moon was full and the waves of the Andaman Sea were crashing on the shore.The moon lit up each crashing wave. In between waves, Alastair got down on one knee and asked Iris to be his wife. Iris was shocked, but recovered enough to say yes.
