These proposals are an easy way to capture a one-of-a-kind moment and still surprise your soon-to-be-fiancee, too.

Derek surprised Melody when he lured her into a photo booth to take some cute shots together. Little did she know he actually took shots of himself holding a “Will you marry me?” sign beforehand and slipped it into the photos after they were printed.

And in the recent issue of Engagement 101, we featured this couple, Ian and Ashlyn, and their quirky photo booth proposal that took place inside the place where they first met.

In the video, the groom-to-be (one of the few men in the entire theater) nervously announces the real reason why he’s there. He then calls his girlfriend down who walks out in front of a “awww”ing crowd. Needless to say, he then gets on one knee and proposes as the crowd cheers. A pretty cute proposal! Watch it below:

“Everyone knows the face is an emotional radiator,” psychologist David Rose tells NPR. “It’s a communication system that tells others what you’re thinking. It’s as though the woman is thinking, ‘Oh, my god, this is going deep into my soul, what am I showing here?’ When I see the very few who don’t [cover their mouths], I wonder, what does this mean? Are they unusually non-emotional? Does it mean they don’t care about this guy? I don’t know.”

Another familiar human interaction he picks up from watching proposals is the “embrace.”

“A lot of times the woman doesn’t say ‘yes,’ or it’s not audible,” Rose says. “But you can read her response by the way she reaches out and grabs the man in a very loving hug.”

To be honest, none of his findings are necessarily groundbreaking discoveries, but it’s interesting nonetheless how humans go through the same emotions when going through a proposal. And since we probably watch one too many YouTube proposals ourselves, we can understand that sentiment. What do you think of the popularity of YouTube proposals?

But about 20 minutes into the film the actors on screen suddenly had their lines dubbed over, and Goldfeder edited his face over Michael J Fox’s character. On screen the scene that played out was about whether Goldfeder should propose or not. At the end of the scene he turned and faced the camera as real-life Goldfeder got down on one knee and proposed.

The proposal was so imaginative and well-thought out  that it was winner of The Ultimate Proposal Contest.

After the marriage proposal, Leticia exclaimed, “I thought you would never ask!”
