A Photobomb Proposal in Seal Beach

The Set Up

Chris decided to propose on Seal Beach, California, as they both love the sand, the surf and the sunshine. The location was also very convenient for his plan: there will be enough space so their friends could “photobomb” the couple’s picture without Heather knowing.

Heather and Chris’ Proposal

I knew I was going to ask Heather to marry me months before I actually did. Heather is so amazing…She is a dedicated Audiologist who helps infants, children, and adults who have hearing loss. Her patients range from six weeks to 99 years old. Heather is so amazing I wanted to make our proposal extra special. The idea came to me to ask two of our best friends to secretly hold up signs behind us while two other good friends took our picture on the beach at sunset.

Our friends “photo bombed,” the picture with signs that said,” Will you marry me?” Heather had no idea they were behind us until I showed her the picture on the digital camera and she saw the posters! Since she knew I was going to ask her soon, I wanted something unexpected that would surprise her and be unique.

After she said “YES,” I walked her to a nearby blanket covered with rose petals and her favorite food and bubbly for a romantic sunset dinner on the beach. Since she knew I was going to ask her soon, I wanted something unexpected that would surprise her. Unfortunately, some seagulls ate our spicy pad thai and s’mores bars, and also spread some of the rose pedals across the sand. That just made it more memorable and we had a good laugh.

The Engagement Ring

Heather and I looked at a few rings ahead of time so I could get a basic idea of what she liked. I used her ideas blended with my own, to create a one-of-a-kind creation. The 14 Karat gold ring has a center cushion cut diamond with 54 round brilliant cut pave set diamonds around the band. The top of the ring is a double set halo.
