Place Vendome in Paris is undoubtedly the center of the Jewelry World and its architecture a must see for any tourist. This week, we decided to share with you a long time favorite among the prestigious jewelry houses with salons or stores Place Vendome. Chaumet is the place to go if you are looking for a French engagement ring or wedding band. They now have a beautiful store dedicated to just bridal jewelry – engagement rings, wedding bands and day of the wedding jewelry. The latter includes an amazing selection of diamond tiaras. Chaumet was founded by Marie-Étienne Nitot who after having served his apprenticeship at Auber jeweller to Queen Marie-Antoinette became Napoleon’s go to jeweler. The jewelry for Napoleon’s wedding to Josephine de Beauharnais was created by Nitot. He designed and set Napoleon’s coronation crown, the hilt of his sword as well as many other pieces for the court. Napoleon often picked beautiful jewels made by Nitot to give to his bride and Josephine loved wearing tiaras. Collection Josephine, named after the Empress, is our favorite group of Chaumet engagement rings. First  they look like mini-tiaras and then many of them feature a pear-shaped diamond center.
