He is an international and uber famous fashion icon, but Karl is also a God in France. Though the Man is German, he has lived in Paris for the better of his adult years. There is no-one more Parisian than Karl. I was not exaggerating when I used the word “God”. What Karl says or thinks is taken very seriously in the fashion and Parisian world. Because Karl always knows. He has an out-of-this-earth talent for design and for picking muses who encompass “La Femme du Moment” such as Lily-Rose Depp and Kirsten Stewart in 2016… Or Choupette, his furry baby, who has become a star herself with close to 100,000 fans on Instagram.
Karl became the head designer and creative director of Chanel in 1983. Season after season, he always finds new ways to celebrate Gabrielle Chanel’s heritage with his own twist and vision of what women will crave wearing. That’s not all he does, Karl designs and partners with other select brands. Lucky us, ladies in waiting of that perfect proposal and stunning engagement ring, he has now partnered with American manufacturer Frederick Goldman to launch his first bridal jewelry collection, in stores this Fall.
I attended the official reveal of his new bridal jewelry collection in Las Vegas at the JCK Luxury show. It put a smile on my face when part of the introduction included a very Parisian quote from Karl about his design approach of an engagement ring. “It has to be elegant, not bling bling.” This is so French. Less is more, everything in moderation.
The Karl Lagarfeld bridal jewelry collection – engagement rings and wedding bands – starts at $1,000 up to $10,000. When it comes to engagement rings, always remember that the price varies and depends on the specs of the center diamond you pick. There are 3 themes or sub-collections.
A group of rings , such as this one, featuring the iconic Lagerfeld pointed stud motif giving texture and a fashion design edge to the settings. I also love the princess diamond set sideways on the side of each ring of this group.
The second group is modern and geometric. This edgy Deco inspired pear-shaped setting is absolutely unique and stunning.
The third group is inspired by French and Parisian architecture. Each ring looks spectacular from any angle with amazing side views. When I look at the ring above, I feel like visiting Notre Dame.
