Jack Kelege – Then and Now Engagement Rings

Engagement-101-10th-anniversary

When we started Engagement 101, it was right at the beginning of big changes in engagement ring design. The classic Tiffany solitaire was starting to get competition from halo styles and more intricate settings. Today the possibilities are endless, with many talented designers exploring alternative designs and couples venturing in designing and customizing their engagement ring. We asked some of our favorite designers their feed-back on these changes and how their collection is different from 10 years ago.

The popularity of halo engagement rings is still going strong, but side details are now lighter and more and more inspired by nature and other whimsical elements. We asked the team at Jack Kelege to tell us about their most popular engagement ring then and about today’s latest designs.

Jack Kelege then and now

“In the year 2006, the design pictured on the left was our most popular piece. As you’ll notice, milgrain edging and geometric sections on the halo lends itself to an inherent vintage appeal, while the halo ring that’s sold most today (pictured on the right) exudes much more romantic and feminine qualities.”
