Michael Yo wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Claire. But, of course, he had to go above and beyond. He made it all about her; which, of course the engagement is about the two of you… but I think this was such an amazing way for him to do it.

First, Claire’s friend invites her for a VIP tour of a winery in Malibu. But it’s all a rouse, you see, because Michael is the one planning the whole thing. Her friend asks to go to the bathroom, and when Claire turns around it’s Michael coming back her way and their dog is carrying the ring (and a video camera). I love that both of them are crying while he proposes! Talk about love.

After Michael proposes, the two go back to the lodge where he tells her he has hair and makeup waiting for her before they do photos together. Claire starts crying again, telling him how thoughtful he is. But it’s even more than that! It’s not just hair and makeup, but her best friend that she hasn’t seen in over a year.

Lastly, after taking photos, the two decide to go to dinner to celebrate their new status. As they walk into the restaurant, there’s cheering and clapping: their friends and family are waiting for them. Claire turns to Michael, crying once again, so amazed at everything he planned for the two of them and the occasion.

This is the way to propose, ladies and gentlemen. He did more than deliver the speech and the ring, he made sure that it was a DAY to remember. And while we can’t all whisk away to Malibu or pay for all of our friends and family to be there, we can plan accordingly so it’s as close to perfect as it can get.
