Mother’s Day Proposal Ideas

Mother’s Day is only two weeks away. If you’re in a relationship with a single mother, or haven’t taken the plunge with the mother of your child(ren) yet, here are a couple ideas on how to propose!

1. Involve the Kids. Whether you dress the children in “Will You Marry Daddy?” shirts (or put your name instead of “daddy” if they’re not yours), or have them hold the signs for the proposal, it will make the occasion so much more memorable. Remember to celebrate her as MOM on this day as much as you want to make her WIFE.

2. Day Off. Treat her to a day at the spa, or a movie by herself– whatever her heart’s content. While she’s away, get the house ready for the proposal. Clean, decorate, cook, bake– do it all. When she comes home, surprise her with a heartfelt speech about how amazing she is for being such a mother, and would she add to the list and become your wife?

3. Propose to Mom & Kids. It isn’t easy changing the ways of a family. Make the proposal extra special and don’t only propose to the mom, but propose to the kids as well. Speak their “love language” and if she has a girl, give her some piece of jewelry as well. Boys? Maybe appeal to their need for a father in some way (baseball gloves, if they’re into that, or something you can do just the pair of you as well). Propose to the mom first, of course, but don’t leave out the kids in the event.
