Bethany was coming home for the holidays.What she wasn’t expecting, was to return to her parents’ house in Tacoma, Washington to her sisters exclaiming, “Mr. Bingley has returned to Netherfield at least!”

While she was surprised, it didn’t take Bethany long to catch on as her third sister dressed her in a Regency dress.

Bethany’s best friend and boyfriend of ten months, David, was hiding in a closet, waiting to make his debut as Mr. Darcy. He had taken the proposal scene straight from Pride and Prejudice. Bethany’s entire family was in on it, slowly joining as characters. Bethany couldn’t help but laugh off and on through it all, but apparently her family did a pretty good job at keeping in their respective roles.

Bethany and David met swing dancing at The University of Washington. Bethany was an English Literature Major, and if you didn’t guess, Pride and Prejudice is one of her favorite books. Clearly, David knew the way to get her attention was to speak with her love of literature.

I promised my little sister I’d make her future boyfriend/fiance do this. Can we all just bow down to David who mastered the proposal?
