3 Wintry-Spring Proposal Ideas

According to the calendar, the first day of spring has come. However, according to the weather in many parts of the country, winter is still winning. If you were planning a spring proposal and now you’re worried the weather isn’t going to work in your favor, here are three creative ideas to help you overcome Mother Nature.

1. Get Creative. I don’t mean just change your proposal so that it involves winter instead of a proposal in a garden. You want a garden proposal? Be creative! Take your girl to the spot and draw flowers in the snow using some fun food-dye. Have a bouquet of legitimate flowers for her and tell her the weather just wouldn’t let you do this how you wanted, but you wouldn’t let that stop you.

2. Move it Indoors. If you don’t want to drag your sweetie out into the cold for your proposal, but don’t want to delay it any longer, then move it indoors. Planning a picnic? Create the atmosphere in your living room! Move all your furniture, put down a blanket, and use your broiler instead of a grill. Planning an outside party because you have a small place, and don’t have the funds to rent a space? Find a friend or family member who has a big enough house to host the event. I highly doubt they’ll tell you no!

3. Surprise Relocation. What girl doesn’t like a surprise trip to somewhere warm when you’ve been stuck in a prolonged winter? There are plenty of ways to plan cost-effective trips, and what better time to do that then for your proposal? If you wanted friends and family, there’s no harm in convincing them to do the same. It may not work out for everyone, but as long as you and the bride-to-be are there, I’d say it’s a win-win.
