We might not be able to live like celebrities (or afford engagement rings as big as their rocks) but we can get excited for their pending nuptials. In 2013, there were many shocking splits (Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom!), but there were also some very sweet – and very public – proposals by our favorite stars. 1 – Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
It was the engagement heard ‘round the Internet when mega reality star (and new mom) Kim Kardashian was given a 14-carat Lorraine Schwartz ring on her 33rd birthday from boyfriend Kanye West. The new parents will likely have a televised wedding sometime in 2014 – and since it’s a Kardashian, we can expect no luxury to be missed. (Maybe North will be the tiniest flower girl ever?!)
2 – Lauren Conrad and William Tell
After developing a great brand for herself the past few years with books, crafting project and clothing, Lauren found an awesome dude to marry. Her boyfriend, law student William Tell proposed with a 2-carat diamond ring and Conrad told Cosmopolitan that she had no idea it was coming. How sweet!
3 – Hayden Panettiere and Wladmir Klitschko
Boxer Wladmir finally put a ring on his on-and-off girlfriend, Hayden in October. Though they have a large age (and height) difference, their passion is never lost in photos, kissing on the beach, cuddling on the red carpet. She confirmed the engagement and showed off her 4-carat engagement ring on Live with Kelly and Michael.
4 – Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo
He might have a thing for models, but singer Adam Levin only has eyes for his Victoria’s Secret model finance’ Behati. After a short breakup, the couple got back together and Levine dismissed his playboy days during an interview with Jay Leno: “Famous last words, ‘I’ll never get married.’ I still don’t necessarily think you have to get married unless you meet someone that makes you want to marry them. And then you marry them and it’s wonderful.”
5 – Lance Bass and Michael Turchin
Former N’Sync star, Lance Bass proposed to his boyfriend of two years, Michael Turchin in New Orleans, after asking his parents’ for permission. They’re sporting matching groom-engagement rings these days and on the day of the engagement, August 31, he tweeted “Happiest guy in the world.” We’d say so!
