These days it seems where and how one pops the question is almost as important as the question itself. (These days? Jeez, I’m becoming my dad!) Fair enough. I’m a big, “Show…don’t tell,” fan…so giving the perfect ring, to the perfect girl, in the perfect place is alright by me. I was asked to talk about Wisconsin specifically…so I will. (Because I was asked. I follow directions when I think it’s best.)
Anyhow…you’ve cast your leading lady…you’ll have an epic symbol of your intentions in the form of the engagement ring…if you’re smart, you’ll have your lines rehearsed and ready to go…and most likely you know when you’re going to get down on that knee. That only leaves one more thing…where will this scene take place? I can help a little bit with some suggestions…you know…to get the ball rolling.
The Iron Horse Hotel, Milwaukee
A very cool, swanky place in Milwaukee.
Great food, smallish…but happenin’.
Holy Hill, Hubertus
Sure it’s a church like place…but the view and feel of the place is fantastic.
Timmer’s Resort, Big Cedar Lake
Atmospheric. Is that a word? When you get there…you’ll know what I mean.
As I said…this is a very short list. I’m sure you have your own recommendations if you live in Wisconsin. Care to share some?
Where is it? Iron Horse Hotel, The Capitale Grille, Holy Hill, Summerfest, Timmer’s Resort, Bellini Restaurant
Regional Recommendations: Door County, Port Washington, Madison, Milwaukee, LaCrosse, The Fox Cities
