"Fairy Tale Interrupted" details the life of John F. Kennedy, including his relationship and proposal with Carolyn Bessette.

Fairy Tale Interrupted: A Memoir of Love, Life, and Loss by Rosemarie Terenzio hits the shelves this month detailing her life as the assistant to John F. Kennedy Jr. However, the book isn’t all just political recap. Terenzio even dishes out the intimate details she knew about the Kennedys, including his proposal to Carolyn Bessette.

John John Kennedy’s perfect proposal involved taking Bessette out on the water while they were staying at Martha’s Vineyard. He had told her they were going out fishing. Bessette was less than thrilled. “I wanted to go fishing like I wanted to cut off my right arm.” Carolyn said.

Terenzio remembers every detail, including what Bessette said after the proposal in 1995: “He asked me to marry him out on the water.” she said “It was so sweet. He told me , ‘Fishing is so much better with a partner’.”

Kennedy was able to make a fishing proposal turn out romantic . It is both sweet and sad to see that this fairy-tale couple enjoyed some very romantic times before tragedy stroke. For more details on Kennedy’s life, check out “Fairy Tale Interrupted.”
