Perhaps there’s some truth to the outdated saying, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” In 2004, Glamour published a recipe for “engagement chicken.” According to the article, if one was to cook the chicken for their boyfriend, their boyfriend was guaranteed to propose within a couple of days.  Sound ridiculous? According to MSNBC, since the original publication of the recipe, dozens of women have come forward to say that not only is the engagement chicken delicious, it has also snagged them a ring.

The recipe is included in a new cookbook called 100 Recipes Every Woman Should Know. The author appeared on the TODAY show to show host Meredith Vieira how to cook the chicken.
