Most women dream of getting a sparkly engagement ring for their proposal, but what if you aren’t into jewelry and would rather have an alternative?
A blog post over at Bike Hacks, a blog devoted to everything bikes, posted an adorable proposal story. Bike enthusiast Darryl didn’t buy his fiance an engagement ring, instead he bought her an engagement bike.
He proposed to her with a jewelry box that had a drawing of a hand wearing a bike as a ring. Afterward they both went to the bike shop and picked up an engagement bike together. Pretty cute, huh?
If you wanted something other than an engagement ring, what kind of “engagement” gift would you ask for?
I’m pretty partial to the engagement ring, but some engagement shoes would be nice.
Sounds like he listened to what his fiancee wanted and that’s what is most important. I’m traditional in that I bought a ring, but can certainly understand the perspective of those who want to be different. Maybe they should make a little scale model of the bike tire for her to wear on her ring finger. 😉
I know this is an old post, but, I must say, if my boyfriend knows me as well as I hope, he’d forget the ring and buy me (us) an engagement tandem bike!
