Marriage Proposal via Google Earth/Maps

Apparently it’s more common than you think. For the technologically challenged, Google Maps is a service that allows people to browse an interactive map. Its infamous Street View option provides satellite shots of streets from around the globe. Google Earth is a lot like Street View except it allows you to view areas from up high.

And like most technologies, people love using using them in interesting ways. There have been several instances of people caught by Google proposing. For example, this shot, taken from Google Earth, shows a rooftop propsoal.

And here’s another example of a proposal caught by Google Street View.

But my only question is…how do they lure the propose into checking Google Earth without becoming suspicious?

Well my proposal ended up on google maps, but my husband flew us over it in a small plane. So it was by luck that he did it at the correct time for it to end up on google maps.
