Halloween Weddings

This morning I found a ton of articles about couples who got married on Halloween this past Saturday. After all, it is the perfect way to kill two birds with one stone (“Hey, let’s get married and throw a Halloween party!”). Below are some highlights of recent Halloween weddings:

Jacky Kelly and Nick Cook, from Burlington City got married on a pirate ship early Halloween evening. The wedding party (or mates) were dressed in pirate gear while the guests watched from the shoreline. Arr!

A couple from Minneapolis, Minn. went with a gothic vampire-themed party. But no one showed up dressed like Dracula. “I wanted to keep it very classy, very elegant, formal attire, no costumes,” bride Samrith Samnanveth told KARE 11 News. You can check out a video of the ceremony here. Very beautiful!

This Ohio couple dressed up as a cowboy and a saloon girl for their nuptials. The rest of the wedding party played along as well, including the preacher. (Gotta love that groomsman dressed as a woman in the background.)

Douglas Stamper and Dawn Hopson from Logan County, W. Va. got married at the most romantic place of all — a cemetery. There’s a video of the ceremony here.

This couple from Chippewa Falls, Wis. had a Halloween-themed wedding in a theater. The bride and groom dressed as king and queen, while the rest of the wedding party were an assortment of Cyndi Laupers, vampires, dead cheerleaders and Obi-Won Kenobis. “There’s no way I could survive a traditional wedding,” bride Mendy Goss told Chippewa News.

What do you guys think about throwing a wedding on a holiday?
