How to Have a Fall Wedding

Fall is my absolute favorite season, so obviously I have a fondness for fall weddings. Creating a “fall” theme is incredibly easy and can add a hint of uniqueness to just your typical big white wedding. Check out a few of our tips on how to create a uniquely seasonal wedding:

The Venue
If you’re planning a wedding around a fall theme, instead of spending lots of money trying to recreate the look of fall, why not just throw the party outside and let nature be your venue? You’ll save a ton on decorations. But since fall weather tends to be bit unpredictable, if you do choose to have it inside you can easily recreate the feeling of fall with typical fall colors (crimson red, orange, yellow, etc). Some even go as far as to bring leaves and trees as part of the decoration, but you don’t have to be so literal. The colors, and maybe a large window overlooking the outdoors, should be enough.

The Dress
If you’re planning an indoor wedding, then go for a dress that plays on the fall color scheme. If you’re going for an outdoor wedding, look for a dress that will keep you warm. You can look for dresses that come with jackets (although beware if you’re a younger bride; sometimes the dress-with-jacket can look a little too “mother of the bride”), or accessorize your dress with a nice, heavy shawl.

The Cake
Now this is easy. There are tons of beautiful fall wedding themed cakes for you to browse and get inspiration from. The most popular fall themed wedding cakes are usually the ones covered in fall leaves. You can easily stretch your creativity a bit and include other things fall is known for, such as “fall harvest” vegetables, wicker baskets, scarecrows, pumpkins, hay stacks, corn stocks, barns, etc.
