The CW’s newest reality show “Hitched or Ditched,” which premieres May 26, is the latest installment in reality shows targeted toward relationships. The show takes couples in long-term relationships and force them to make a life-altering decision. They can either get married or split up. Nothing in between. It’s being promoted as “the ultimate ultimatum.”
I’m sure everyone has been in those relationships where you turn to the other and say, “OK, where are we going with this?” But a TV intervention seems like the wrong choice. And even if “television entertainment” was stripped from the equation, from a real-life perspective it still seems rather ridiculous. You can’t bully and pressure someone into marriage. In fact, I wrote about his awhile back in my post about signs your relationship is doomed. Tip number three said “if you have to literally drag them to the alter and force them at gunpoint to say yes, why bother?” (How weird that I just quoted myself.) But I think the advice still stands. What do you think?
Giving a marriage ultimatum is ridiculous. I totally agree about it being a disaster waiting to happen if someone has to be dragged to the alter. I have known a few couples that had “shotgun weddings” and even they couldn’t make it work despite wanting to be married for the sake of their soon to arrive baby. That being said, running a site called LuvemOrLeavem I will have to tune in a few times just to peek at what’s going on.
Yeah, I’ll probably watch it, too. Makes for good blog ideas.
My boyfriend and I were flown out to LA for the final try outs for this show!!!
Apparently we weren’t enough drama for them…no jealousy issues, parents liked eachother…etc.
It will be interesting to watch the couples and who says yes because we met most of them!!!

OMG what a $%!!* whipped guy. His mother is a control freak. Daughter 30 still lives at home, he’s 25 and doesn’t have the balls to stand up to his mother for the woman he claims he loves. The “father” apparently has his balls tied too… stands there saying nothing while “Mom” freaks about about the news of the upcoming marriage.

I want to know how can my boyfriend and I be om the show. We’ve been together for 5 rocky years, and seriously i want to know where are we going with this!!! I’ve stuck by him through EVERYTHING! I even had to fight and proove myself to his mom but the still dispises me she thinks her son deserves better. We have 2 beautiful children together and can you believe his mom denied my 1st child she called me a whore and everything, I even had to go as far as getting a DNA test to proove to them. He has cheated on my multiple times with his ex and yet and still he always comes running back to me and i always forgive him. He and I have been watching “hitched or ditched” and for the past 2 yrs i’ve been throwing hints at him. I’M beautiful, and i want to get married and soon and i keep telling him “IF YOU WON’T MARRY ME, SOMEONE ELSE WILL!” We would be great guest on your show because this would be the FINAL TEST to proove if he really loves ME!!!

If someone would let me know how to sign up my son and his girlfriend of five years that would be great. I have the perfect couple here.These two have been on again off again for too long. They have a little girl two years old. Live in separte apartments and drama non stop. You never know from one day to the next if they are together.One month he wants to be serious and settle down, but she doesn’t.Then vise versa.They are so different we all can’t believe that they are still hanging in there. She is a good girl and he works hard and plays hard. I told them both to watch the show last night, then called them both to see what they thought. For some reason after all they have been thru they just can’t let go of each other.
Some times we want them together then we just want them to let go and get on with their lives. Our families are totally different! Like night and day ! From different sides of town.

we would love to be on the show to get married. We have been together 3 years and not even got engaged. He says it cause of money.
Personally I think Jesse & Gabi wedding; she really had the worst bitchy maid of honour; totally setting both these people for rows; telling him knowing how explosive he can be about the ex boyfriend turning up professing his love (I liked him; thought he was the most sincere of all)
I predict this marriage will end within a year or so; she’ll be on the end of his heavy handed violent temper and if she’s wise enough now to stand up to him; then he’ll see that he has an equal…
I also predict that this marriage will end up with Jesse in bed with Gabi’s maid of honour and that Jesse will end up suffering some sort of spousal abuse..
I personally wouldn’t have married him; I am surprised she did after the way he reacted… What makes me an expert? I’m 13 years married, not a wet day okay.
Just wondering why when ye are all getting married why the bride can’t just go into one of those “hire” shops and get a lovely dress for the day and do the same for her bridesmaids.. and the same for the fella; hire his suit & his bachelor friends..
Choose a nice venue, good meal that you know all will enjoy; one with a vegetarian option (I had 2 vegetarians at my wedding!!) And involve friends and family in the making of cakes and organising flower bouquets..
My bride had a beautiful hand-tied bouquet from flowers of our own garden and wore a fairytale ivory gown and she looked stunning.. we’re 14 years married now and renewing our wedding vows in Rome next year (Please God!)
So what I’m trying to say folks is; Money is hard to come by and both parties work their hardest; overtime etc to make it a day to remember.. but does it have to be so over budget? Love is the most important thing at the end of the day; love, friendship and respect
